HORAGE AUTARK 10 YEARS

With its eye catching good looks and superbly engineered lightweight case, the Autark 10 Years by independent Swiss watch company Horage is a celebration of the tenth anniversary of the brand’s first in-house self winding movement, produced in a limited edition of only 99 pieces.

A superb example of cool, contemporary styling whose sporty personality is underlined with a water resistance of 100m, the Autark 10 Years is a wristwatch which fuses state of the art manufacturing technology with high tech materials,  and a showcase for modernist watchmaking.

Measuring 39mm across, and just over 10mm tall the Autark is clean and minimal in its overall design, but a closer look reveals a complex construction and subtle detail throughout. Sleek and distinctive with flat surfaces and pronounced angles, the case is manufactured in hardened Grade 5 titanium and has a dark grey colour, which is accentuated by the matte finish. A quick change from the  titanium link bracelet with folding clasp to the biodegradable leather strap which is also provided has a transformative effect on the character of the watch.

Beneath the flat sapphire crystal, the grey anthracite dial features a coarse grainy unidirectional brush finish, with applied arabic numerals in white and luminous dot accents which complement the luminous tipped steel hands, enhancing legibility in even low light conditions. On display are small seconds at the nine o’clock, a power reserve indicator at the six and a generously proportioned date window at the three.

Inside, and visible through the sapphire crystal exhibition caseback, the K1 self winding movement which is celebrating its tenth anniversary, is signed by the watchmakers, and the oscillating weight which dominates the view is inscribed with the 10 Years message in nineteen languages. Entirely designed, developed and produced in-house, each K1 movement in this limited edition is individually certified as a COSC Official Chronometer. Featuring silicon escapement it boasts an impressive 65 hours of power reserve with a signature frequency of 3.5 hz (25’200 vib/h).

A thoroughly modern wristwatch in every respect, with its sleek design, brooding titanium grey, and clear and practical functionality the Autark 10 Years is truly a watch of our times which is exclusive and individual.
