Surely one of the most spectacular wristwatches of 2025, the fabulous Time Jumper by Geneva based independent maison Czapek is a piece which combines cues of Czapek’s classical watchmaking heritage with a bold and daring contemporary horological twist. Conceived to mark both the occasions of the brand’s tenth anniversary since its revival in 2015, as well as 180 years of the Czapek name association with fine watchmaking, with its stunning guilloché decorated half hunter case and jumping hours display visible through a sapphire aperture in its centre, the Time Jumper is a technical and aesthetic tour de force, and a watch which is guaranteed to be a conversation starter in any company.

The Time Jumper also heralds the introduction of the marque’s brand new in-house Calibre 10 self winding movement, which will be the foundation block for many future Czapek complications. Featuring a skeletonised oscillating weight manufactured out of recycled 950 platinum, and with openworked plates and bridges, This, the Calibre 10.1 first iteration of this milestone mechanism boasts a fully integrated jumping hours, time only configuration.

Drawing inspiration from the fashion of early Czapek pocket watches from the mid-eighteen hundreds, which often featured half hunter cases to protect the delicate dial, the Time Jumper is a dramatic departure from conventional watch design. The soft pebble-like roundedness of the closed case means that there is not an edge or a straight line to be found, and lends the watch a futuristic ‘spaceship’ appearance.

Its articulated cover is in steel but features an 18kt white gold inlay, which has been beautifully engraved with a swirling ‘vortex’ guilloché pattern which draws the eye towards the centre, where a magnifying peep-hole crystal provides sight of the hour numerals which are aligned beneath. Just below a second, crescent-shaped aperture allows the minutes to be displayed. A press on the discrete pusher, which nestles between the lugs at the six o’clock position, releases the lid and the full display and architecture of the movement within is revealed beneath a box-style sapphire crystal.

Here, a pair of clear sapphire discs bearing the hour numerals are highlighted above a blue background to display the time in twenty-four hour format. As the peripheral minutes ring rotates and passes the top of the hour, the discs jump in instant synch (the tens disc only jumping every two hours). The application of Super Lumi-Nova on both the hours and minutes numerals ensure optimal legibility in all light environs.

The cutaway dial and a sapphire caseback on the underside offer an appreciation of the intricacies of the all-new openworked mechanism within. Beating at 28’800 vib/h, and with an impressive power reserve of sixty hours on a single barrel, the Caliber 10.1 is Czapek’s state of the art self winding movement, which has been fully designed, developed and assembled in-house, and finished to haute horlogerie standards.

Time Jumper is manufactured in a limited production of only 100 pieces in stainless steel with the white gold guilloché inlay, and measuring 40.5mm across, 42.8mm from lug tip to lug tip and 12.35mm in height, with a water resistance of 30m, it is presented on a blue rubber strap with folding clasp.
