LINDE WERDELIN OKTOPUS MOONLITE LIMITED EDITION

An absolutely stunning contemporary wristwatch which is designed to cope with the challenges of the undersea world, while cutting a striking and stealthy pose above it, the brand new Oktopus MoonLite by independent watch brand Linde Werdelin is a piece of dramatic styling and elaborate construction, which as well as being a practical dive watch with a water resistance rating of 300m, also features a captivating moon phase display which really comes to life when the lights are dimmed.

Encased in a special proprietary material called Alloy Linde Werdelin (ALW), with its flat surfaces, pronounced angular edges and crown protecting shoulders, the new Oktopus MoonLite has an imposing presence on the wrist. Twice as hard as stainless steel, yet half as heavy as titanium, this almost space age alloy has a uniquely futuristic look, feel and finish, which is entirely appropriate in a dive watch reimagined for the twenty-first century.

Measuring 44mm across and 46mm from end to end, with no lugs as the ends of the interchangeable rubber strap are secured within the case confines, the Oktopus MoonLite is a piece which is both unmissable in its appearance, and unmistakable as a Linde Werdelin. Designed by divers for divers, it is light, and its powerful Super LumiNova luminous hands and markers ensure excellent legibility in low light environs, beneath and above the surface of the water, while its circular brushed ceramic bezel provides an additional touch of contemporary styling.

Beneath the sapphire crystal, the dial is a complex layering of five skeletonised elements, which create a three dimensional effect of contrasting metallic hues. Underneath the dial, a disc displays the changing phases of the lunar cycle, depicted in fourteen luminous photorealistic graphics, with the current phase indicated by the blue zero at the six o’clock position. Transforming into a vivid green glow in the dark, which complements the blues and greens of the hands, numerals and hour indices, it is a spectacular sight when the light is low.

Inside the MoonLite, a bespoke self winding Swiss movement features an in house moonphase module, and beating at a brisk 28’800 vib/h it has a 40 hour power reserve. It is concealed and protected behind a solid caseback which is engraved with the Oktopus motif.

With only fifty-nine examples of this exceptional edition being manufactured, the Linde Werdelin Oktopus MoonLite is a watch which is not only an icon of modern watch design, but is exclusive too, It is presented on a black rubber strap with titanium pin buckle.
