The Seiko Prospex Alpinist Australasian Limited Edition SPB489J pays homage to the rugged beauty of the Australian Outback. Its striking red sunburst dial, adorned with a vertical wave texture, evokes the shimmer of heat rising from the desert floor, an atmospheric tribute to the red desert landscapes. Crafted in stainless steel, the case measures 39.5mm in diameter, 13.2mm thick, and spans 46.4mm lug-to-lug. It features a dual-crystal setup with a sapphire front and Hardlex exhibition caseback, and offers robust 200m water resistance thanks to a screw-down crown. The timepiece is paired with a brown calf leather strap and secured with a traditional pin buckle. Powered by Seiko’s in-house automatic calibre 6R35, the watch delivers a 70-hour power reserve and supports hours, minutes, seconds, date, and an internal compass bezel, underscoring its tool-watch heritage. The 20mm lug width offers versatility for strap changes.
