The Louis Erard x Wire Art Fil d’Or is a striking limited-edition timepiece that blends horological precision with avant-garde artistry. Encased in a polished 39 mm stainless steel case, this watch features a dial crafted from 2,320 threads of 24K hardened gold, each just 25 microns thick—three times thinner than a human hair—placed with obsessive precision using repurposed microelectronic bonding machines. The cube motif, a Louis Erard signature, creates a trompe-l’œil illusion that plays with light and depth, while 3,660 solder points define the chapter ring and hour markers. Powered by the automatic Sellita SW261-1 movement with a 38-hour power reserve, the watch showcases a specially openworked rotor visible through the sapphire crystal caseback engraved “WIRE ART EDITION 1 of 99.” Rhodium-plated sword-shaped hands with diamond-polished angles complement the black lacquer dial, and the beige grained calf leather strap adds a refined finish. Developed in collaboration with Wire Art Switzerland, this micromechanical embroidery masterpiece is a tribute to craftsmanship and innovation, limited to just 99 pieces worldwide.
