The Sarpaneva Stardust Nostromo marks Stepan Sarpaneva’s 20-year milestone with a futuristic design, Neo-Gothic take on his signature Korona platform. The 42 mm case is machined from Finnish Outokumpu SUPRA 316L/4435 stainless steel, brushed and polished, with front and rear sapphire crystals and internal multi-anti-reflective coating. A screw-down crown at 4 o’clock and 10 ATM water resistance keep the watch practical despite its highly open-worked architecture.
Its multi-part, hand-finished stainless-steel dial is DLC coated and individually unique, with the Nostromo edition distinguished by hand-applied Tritec luminescence and four different Swiss Super-Luminova® colours. Futuristic stencilled numerals and cockpit-style crosshairs glow in vivid tones, while two-tone rhodium hands carry luminous treatment. Timekeeping shifts from centre seconds to an off-centre small seconds display at 10 o’clock, highlighted by a black-polished “rocketship” seconds hand.
Through the caseback, the modified Chronode P.1003 calibre is fully on show: a 31 mm, 4 Hz automatic movement with 244 components, 34 jewels and a 60-hour power reserve. Rhodium plating and matte finishing emphasise the movement’s modern geometry, while a bespoke Sarpaneva “new moon” face rotor on ceramic ball bearings ties the watch to the brand’s lunar identity. Limited to 20 pieces, this example is supplied with its original box, papers and a warranty dated April 2023, on a handmade matte black leather strap.
