Roger Dubuis 36 Automatic ladie’s self winding watch in diamond set stainless steel 36mm case, featuring metallic blue sunburst dial with oversize roman numerals, on blue leather strap with folding clasp.
From a watch brand which represents the pinnacle of an age old tradition, Roger Dubuis’ history spans back just more than a mere twenty years. Few companies have established their presence in this exalted sector of watchmaking, and a loyal following among collectors in such a short frame of time, but as evident in the Excalibur 36, the standards at Roger Dubuis are on a different level to most others.
Established in 1995 by master watchmaker and visionary Roger Dubuis, his eponymous Geneva based watch Company has firmly cemented a reputation for absolutely exquisite watchmaking, achieving along the way one of the industry’s most cherished and hard-won standards, the seal of the revered Poinçon de Genève, awarded only to practitioners of the very finest levels of craftsmanship, technical innovation and exemplary finishing.
The Roger Dubuis Excalibur 36 Automatic is an exquisite piece for the ladie’s wrist, and it’s set off to spectacular effect with .99ct of brilliant cut diamonds set into its bezel. A satin brushed and polished stainless steel case, and a mesmerising blue dial with rich sunburst finishing almost shimmers like the sea.
Huge roman numerals in polished stainless steel are drawn inwards towards the centre of dial and are integral to the decorative effect, catching the light along their slightly raised edges, and they fill out the dial, except for the small seconds at the 6 o’clock position, itself defined by the round satin brushed steel ring.
Underneath, a sapphire caseback reveals the RD821 self winding movement. Bound by the uncompromising criteria of the Poinçon de Genève, whose seal is imprinted onto the oscillating weight. The workmanship on display is breathtaking, as each and every one of its 174 tiny components have been individually finished to perfection by hand.
