Graham Chronofighter Vintage GMT 2CVBC.C01A

With its 24-hour/second-time-zone function, the new Graham Chronofighter enables lovers of its unique and iconic design to navigate their way around the world

Few watches are as immediately identifiable and aesthetically arresting as the Graham Chronofighter series. These are bold, uncompromising wristwatches with unique personalities and massive presence. The iconic collection welcomes a new addition to its ranks in the form of this fabulous new Chronofighter Vintage Pulsometer edition. With only 250 pieces having been produced, it is striking in its simplicity, as aside from time and date, the dial features no elapsed time displays typically found on a chronograph watch, and the large sweeping second-hand serves primarily as a mechanical heart rate calculator, as it is read against the pulsometer scale around the dial.

Of course, the most outstanding feature of the Chronofighter series is its pronounced articulated trigger and the piston reset pusher, which are located on the left of the case, making their use sure and quick using the thumb and forefinger. It’s a feature which not only looks great but in the case of this stunning Vintage Pulsometer means that for a medical professional, whose work can often be in the midst of critical, life or death situations, the device and its mechanism is configured for straightforward and dependable deployment.

Beneath the sapphire crystal, the silvery dial is quite simple, thanks to the absence of any particularly prominent features, or even the normally default chronograph subdials, with the only displays being the unmarked constant small seconds in the recessed subdial at the 3 o’clock position and the day and date windows across at the 9. Only the luminous dot hour markers, the fine printed minutes indices and the olive green pulsometer scale, which arcs in a semi-circle from the 2 to the 9, feature on the otherwise plain silver dial; its sunbrushed finish shimmering as the light passes over it.

The hands are coated in rose gold plating and filled with vivid Super LumiNova to ensure accurate referencing in even low light conditions, and the red tip on the large central chrono seconds provides pinpoint accuracy against the pulsometer scale.

Inside beats the G1718 automatic self winding movement, which can be appreciated through the sapphire exhibition caseback. Fully wound the movement will run for 48 hours, although of course, any movement on the wrist keeps the power reserve topped up.

The hand sewn olive green calfskin leather strap with pin buckle feels smooth and soft, and ensures a luxuriously comfortable wear on the wrist.
