Featuring a spectacular dial aspect, the Trilobe Une Folle Journée Rhodium Plated Edition Blue watch is stunning in its arrangement and execution. Housed in a Grade 5 titanium polished and satin brushed case sized at 40.5mm, with a height of 17.8mm, the case is fitted with a generous domed sapphire crystal which on its own rises to 10.2mm in order to accommodate the three-dimensional architecture of its trio of rotating rings which mark the passage of time. Crafted from ultra-light titanium, and toned with a DLC coating, the individual rings turn upon sophisticated mechanisms with the hours, the larger of the three positioned at the outer dial, followed by the minutes and seconds with each concentrically placed. Supported on nine tiny pillars the rings are crafted to conform to the curve of the sapphire, and as they rotate using the fixed reference, they enable an intuitive reading of the passage of time which is instantly mesmerising. Beneath, the rhodium-plated baseplate of the Calibre X-Centric self-winding movement can be glimpsed and this is complemented by a full disclosure of the calibre through the rear sapphire crystal. A remarkable example of contemporary independent watchmaking, the Trilobe Une Folle Journée Rhodium Plated Edition Blue watch by Trilobe is presented on a strap of sustainable leather, secured to the wrist with a titanium pin buckle.
