An effortlessly stylish timepiece, the Tutima Saxon One Chronograph Royal Blue 6420-05 watch carries a dial of remarkable depth, rendered in a stunning shade of deepest blue. Decidedly modern in character, this superb model is housed within a sculpted polished stainless steel casing with a water-resistance of 200m, featuring a bidirectional rotating bezel, and secures to the wrist on a beautifully crafted stainless steel bracelet. Powered by a precision automatic calibre, the watch boasts the rarity of two central sweep chronograph hands, one for the chronograph minutes, and another to time the chronograph seconds, with the mechanism enabled by a proprietary chronograph system.
Acclaimed for their aviation-inspired timepieces and innovative chronograph mechanisms, Tutima watches have an intimate connection with Saxony’s Glashütte, seat of the German watchmaking industry. Founded in 1927, Tutima’s story is one of extraordinary perseverance in the face of economic challenges and the disruption and devastation brought by the ravages of war. Today the company whose name in its Latin version ‘Tutus’ means ‘secure’ are safely back in Glashütte, having opened a state-of-the-art facility in 2008 close to their original factory, where development of their own in-house calibres and precision modules continues in the innovative spirit which is at the heart of the brand.
Manufactured from stainless steel, the case of the Tutima Chronograph Royal Blue watch is sized at 43mm across. Uniquely styled, it features distinctive pyramid-shaped detailing at each corner, with each facet flowing upwards to embrace the bidirectionally rotating bezel with the company’s signature red reference marker at the12 o’clock, while the pushers are sleek in form and integrate perfectly within the case side.
Arranged upon a deep blue dial surface the indications are laid out in an uncluttered configuration, with counters for the small seconds, the 12 hours, and the 24-hour display. Unusually, the watch has central sweep hands for both the chronograph minutes and chronograph seconds, and with a vivid red finish applied, these stand out wonderfully against the blue dial. The hour and minutes hands and tapering indices are faceted, and a date window at the three o’clock position completes the arrangement.
Revealed through a sapphire crystal caseback, the self-winding Cal. Tutima 521 movement beats at a rate of 28’800 vib/h, and is equipped with a rotor with an 18ct gold seal enabling a power reserve of 48 hours when fully wound.
The Tutima Saxon One Chronograph Royal Blue 6420-05 watch comes presented on superb stainless steel link bracelet which integrates seamlessly with the case.
