Capturing the essence of classic Glashütte styling, the Tutima Patria 6610-02 watch is characterised by understatement and refinement. Housed within a rounded stainless steel casing, and with an abundant of finely crafted features, this beautifully arranged model is powered by a superb manual winding Tutima Manufacture mechanical movement.

Since their founding in 1927, Tutima watches have had an intimate connection with Saxony’s Glashütte, seat of the German watchmaking industry, and the story of the company is one of extraordinary perseverance in the face of economic challenges and the disruption and devastation brought by the ravages of war. Today the company whose name in its Latin version ‘Tutus’ means ‘secure’ are safely back in Glashütte, having opened a state-of-the-art facility in 2008 close to their original factory, where development of their own in-house calibres and precision modules continues in the innovative spirit which is at the heart of the brand.

Manufactured from stainless steel, the case of the Tutima Patria 6610-02 is sized at 43mm diameter, with a height of 11.2mm. Its rounded form is enhanced with a polished finish, and it is fitted with a fluted crown protected by a sleek guard.

Against a surface of anthracite grey, the polished hands for the hours and minutes taper to fine arrow tips and these are complemented by fine applied indices. At six o’clock, a subdial for the small seconds displays a crisp track at its outer, and it carries a slender arrow-tipped seconds hand, while a graceful minimalist line defines the outer edge of the dial.

Viewable through the sapphire crystal caseback, the Tutima Manufacture Calibre 617 displays the distinctive arrangement that is synonymous with Saxony watchmaking. Showcasing a satisfying level of craftsmanship, Glashütte stripes enhance its three-quarter plate, and the sunburst decoration on the crown and ratchet wheels is immaculate. Elsewhere, a skeltonised balance cock reveals the Tutima screwed balance, while a trio of jewels, each screw-mounted within a gold chaton, enhance its architecture further. Beating at 21’600 vib/h, the movement has a 65 hour reserve of power when fully wound.

The Tutima Patria 6610-02 watch comes presented on an alligator leather strap secured with a stainless steel pin buckle.
