Using avant-garde styling and complex construction materials Singer Reimagined have evolved their Track 1 collection a step further and this exceptional edition raises the bar for conceptual horology once again. Presented in a case crafted from a solid block of stratified carbon fibre, the Track 1 Carbon is entirely at home within this new and highly technical casing, and with a compelling dial side exposé which reveals the mechanical genius behind its innovational mechanism, this exclusive model is an outstanding proposition.

Released onto the watchmaking landscape in 2017, the Track 1 watch by Singer Reimagined rewrote the rules on how we view and interact with the chronograph complication. Working alongside Agenhor, the specialist horologic design company, Singer Reimagined developed a revolutionary new method that dispensed with the need for individual subdials for the elapsed seconds, minutes and hours. Instead, the dial of the Track 1 features a single central display, which enables intuitive and precise reading of the indications instantaneously. A fascinating timepiece from every aspect, the Track 1 Carbon brings added drama to the collection, and the exclusivity of a 25 piece release to its wearer.

Each piece in this limited edition is housed in a stratified forged carbon case meticulously machined from a single block of the cutting-edge, ultra-light material. Sized at 43mm across and with a height of 15mm, it follows the profiling of previous models, however the technical material elevates the character of the model, immediately changing its styling codes, to give it a stealthy personality which in turn, enhances the golden nuances on the dial side. Topped with a mirror polished black DLC titanium bezel, and complemented by pushers and a crown in the same material and finish, Singer Reimagined have achieved remarkable contrasting elements making this piece visually stunning from every aspect.

Providing a fascinating panorama for the wearer, the architecture of the dial side is stunning in its arrangement and detail. Comprising of a transparent dial, suspended over the movement, it enables a disclosure of elements which were hidden from view on previous Track 1 editions and it features cool nuances of automotive styling. The minutes wheel, taking the form of a vintage Porsche sports wheel rotates in constant motion. Just beneath it, lies the automatic rotor adding further animation with every subtle wrist movement. Manufactured in ceramic, the discs for the rotating hours and minutes which enable the chronograph functions to step away from the conventional layout of subdials, each feature engraved numerals filled with golden lume, and are placed on a background of matte black so they stand out beautifully, The time indication is via an orange finger marker at the six o’clock position, which is complemented by a trio of equally vivid orange hands at the dial centre which serve to indicate the elapsed seconds, minutes and hours, all in units of sixty. Offering the wearer instantaneous and intuitive reading, the 60 scale is rendered in brilliant white upon the suspended sapphire ring. On the flange, a tachymetric scale with diminutive black numerals on a resplendent circular brushed golden background brings the design language of the watch together creating a stunning aesthetic.

Beneath the sapphire glass caseback, the self winding, automatic AgenGraphe movement by Agenhor is an extraordinary feat of micro engineering. At its very heart, a groundbreaking chronograph module seamlessly integrates with the mechanical elements around it. Making the most of the astounding architecture, the oscillating weight has been removed from its traditional position between glass and movement, out of sight completely to underneath the dial. Beating at 21’600 vph it achieves a 60 hours of power reserve when fully wound.

While the Track 1 has already been acclaimed as an icon within the contemporary watchmaking genre, this edition builds upon the achievements of this exciting independent company and it is without doubt a showcase for their mechanical ingenuity and design prowess. The SKLT Carbon edition is a limited release of 25 pieces, each presented on a black caoutchouc strap, which makes its debut within the series.
