In celebration of an iconic year, the 1969 Timer by Singer Reimagined harks back to an era of wild hair, free love, and legendary chronographs. Blending nostalgia with innovative technology, this superb new model displays the company’s flyback mechanism within a traditional three hand setting for the first time. Wonderfully stylish and effortlessly cool, the model is presented in a new 40mmm stainless steel casing, upon a beautifully finished integrated steel bracelet, and has a limited production of only 50 pieces in 2023.

Exhibiting meticulous attention to detail, the 1969 Timer is an excellent showcase for Singer Reimagined’s inimitable style and their technical panache. No less complex than previous models, the 1969 Timer features the company’s zero-recent flyback chronograph timer, which enables the central sweeping seconds hand to function as an intuitive one-minute counter at lightning-quick speed. A chronograph timer like no other, this ingenious solution to sports timing gives the dial a gloriously uncluttered aspect.

The watch case is manufactured from stainless steel and is sized at a 40mm across, with a height of 15.6mm. Aesthetically pleasing in the highest degree, and exceptionally tactile, it curves to extend its profile, and is enhanced with a brushed finish and polished edges. A perfectly proportioned push piece at the 2 o’clock position enables instant reset and restart of the timing mechanism quickly without the need for a start-stop-reset sequence, and the case is topped with a domed glass-box sapphire crystal.

Seamlessly embracing the case, the steel bracelet features brushed ‘H’ links, which recall the shape found on the curbs of racetracks, and rounded central links which have a high polish so they reflect and play with the light. The combination of the two elements ensures a perfect ergonomic fit regardless of wrist size, and with a precision micro-adjustment system, the bracelet can be easily adjusted without having to be removed. A new feature in the Singer Reimagined portfolio, the bracelet is fitted with a quick release clasp, engraved with the brand’s logo which is finished with brushed and mirror-polished edges. Although the styling codes of the case and bracelet are reminiscent of those seen on classic chronographs of the 1960s and '70s, the meticulous attention to detail devoted to every nuance ensures that it is instantly recognisable as a Singer Reimagined timepiece.

Debuting a traditional time display within the Singer Reimagined portfolio, the dial displays clean styling despite its functionality as a fully fledged, intuitive flyback one-minute timer, with an excellent combination of orange hands and golden indications, against a surface of deep piano-black lacquer. Notably, when viewed from the side, the golden rehaut becomes an even more resplendent feature, with added magnification from the box sapphire crystal giving it a three dimensional appearance.

Unique in its architecture, and revealed through the sapphire glass caseback, the manual winding Calibre Singer Reimagined 6363 AgenGraphe movement by Agenhor is extraordinary. At its very heart, a groundbreaking proprietary clutch system allows the central seconds hand to disassociate from the movement, while kept still, and to reengage for motion as soon as the push button is released, so that once the pusher at 2 o’clock is activated, the system enables instant and sequential measurements without impacting the timekeeping of the watch. Comprising of 237 components, the manual-wound mechanism provides a reserve of power of 72 hours.

Limited to a production of only 50 pieces during 2023, the Singer Reimagined 1969 Timer is an exceptional piece of contemporary independent watchmaking, and with its all new stainless steel link bracelet, one which takes the brand's handsome and distinctive aesthetics to a whole new dimension.
