A dramatic piece of contemporary independent watchmaking, the HYT S1 Titanium DLC Blue watch is a uniquely arranged sports timepiece. Presented in a lightweight 45.30mm grade 5 titanium case featuring a black DLC coating and a satin finish, the unexpected angles and sculpted profile of the housing give the watch a bold wrist presence. This striking new model showcases the technical mastery of the HYT patented fluidic technology on the dial side, with the hydraulic bellows exposed at the six o’clock dominating the architecture as they expand and contract to force the two immiscible fluids held within the elevated glass tube that encircles the dial. For this model, vivid blue is employed within the retrograde hour indication, complemented by a skeletonised central minutes hand, with a power reserve and a small seconds dial adding equipoise to the layout. Beating at 28’800 vib/h, the proprietary manual wound Calibre 501-CM movement developed with master watchmaking Eric Coudray comprises of 352 components, and is equipped with a power reserve of 72 hours when fully hand wound. Revealed through a sapphire crystal caseback, one can see a rear view of the workings of the bellows resting alongside meticulously rendered sand-blasted and satin-finished components. The HYT S1 wears on Velcro or rubber strap, secured with a pin buckle and loop system, and the piece has a water resistance of up to 50 metres.
