Featuring a Grand-Feu enamel dial of extraordinary depth and beauty the Quai Des Bergues Black Enamel S is presented in a limited edition of only 100 pieces. A superb example of contemporary Haute Horlogerie, this beautifully crafted wristwatch is powered by Czapek’s technically acclaimed proprietary SHX1 manual wind calibre.
Manufactured using traditional Grand Feu techniques the enamel dial is both quietly beautiful yet aesthetically stunning. Crafted in the same manner as white enamel, yet even more challenging to create, layers of enamel powder are hand-applied then fired with multiple processes required before achieving perfection. The end result of working with this frangible material is a dial surface with unparalleled purity and the intensity achieved for this black edition is simply supreme. Upon the enamel surface, the indications exhibit excellent contrast with white roman numerals and white gold hands for the hours and minutes. Elsewhere, a recessed subdial for the small seconds at the 7.30 is accompanied by the signature Czapek joint seven day power reserve and weekday indication at the 4.30 position.
The casing is of stainless steel sized at 38.mm across. Its rounded form is refined, and its profile is enhanced by a rounded bezel, gently curving lugs and a sleek crown guard.
Inside the watch, the superb SXH1 proprietary calibre affirms the commitment of Czapek to movement development and high-end finishing. Openworked bridges on the gear train lend it an airy character, while meticulous sandblasting, bevelling, hand-chamfering, and circular and snailed finishing techniques add character and prestige. Beating at 21’600 vib/h the movement has a 7 day reserve of power when fully hand wound.
An exceptional edition which boasts the rarity of a black Grand Feu enamel dial, the Czapek Quai des Bergues Black Enamel S watch is limited to 100 pieces with each presented on a black alligator leather strap secured with a steel pin buckle.
