Released in 2016 to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Nautilus collection, the Patek Philippe 5976/1G is a limited edition of 1,300 pieces and stands as one of the most exclusive and technically refined sports chronographs produced by the brand. Housed in a bold 18K white gold case measuring 44 mm across (from 10 to 4 o’clock) and 12.16 mm thick, this reference retains the iconic Nautilus design with a distinctive integrated bracelet and a double-folding clasp. The case features a sapphire crystal on both the front and back, offering full visibility of the movement, and is rated to a water resistance of 120 meters.

The dial presents a rich blue sunburst finish, accented by 12 baguette-cut and one princess-cut diamond hour markers. At 6 o’clock, a mono-counter combines the 60-minute and 12-hour chronograph displays, while the date sits at 3 o’clock. A commemorative “1976–40–2016” anniversary inscription is subtly embossed on the dial, marking the milestone.

Powering the 5976/1G is the in-house automatic Caliber CH 28-520 C. This flyback chronograph movement features a central chronograph seconds hand and a vertical clutch with column wheel for precise actuation. It runs at 28,800 vph (4 Hz), holds a power reserve of 45 to 55 hours, and includes 35 jewels. The rotor is crafted from 21K gold with movement bearing the Patek Philippe Seal, signifying its high finishing standards and performance. Combining bold proportions, a distinctive anniversary design, precious metal construction, and refined mechanical complexity, the 5976/1G-001 is a fitting tribute to the enduring legacy of the Nautilus.

This particular example is pre-owned but remains in like-new condition. It is single-sealed and comes complete with original box, warranty papers (dated 2016), and accessories, making it a collector-grade piece.
