Reinforcing the creative spirit of this distinguished independent watchmaking company, the 1770 Royal Bridges Flying Tourbillon watch by Manufacture Royale features a unique interplay of coloured bridges and exposed mechanisms within a Haute Horlogerie setting.

Originally established by philosopher and inventor, Voltaire in 1770, timepieces by Manufacture Royale have become an excellent find for collectors around the world since the company’s reawakening in 2010. Available in six Pièce Unique models, the exclusive 1770 Royal Bridges Flying Tourbillon demonstrates the company’s mastery of technical horology and flair for contemporary styling.

Throughout its construction and assembly the watch exhibits a visually satisfying level of complexity. The casing is of a multi-part construction, and has a rounded profile, with a broad polished bezel. Sized at 43mm diameter, it is available in stainless steel or 18ct rose gold, with an additional option of a diamond set 18ct rose gold case. The open-worked dial has been created to showcase the mechanical components of the barrel and the flying tourbillon, with the arrangement enhanced by faceted bridges which are positioned at the level of the flanges so that they reach up to the sapphire crystal, adding an exceptional three-dimensional aspect to the façade.

Beneath the upper bridge, the barrel is fully exposed, while the lower bridge secures the flying tourbillon which is off-set between the seven and eight o’clock position. Enhancing the desirability of each 1770 Royal Bridges Flying Tourbillon Pièce Unique, the client can choose the colour of the bridges with a choice of blue, pink, khaki green, brown or indigo purple and, adding further uniqueness, a choice of either engine-tuned or shot-blasted finishing of the mainplate on the dial side gives the owner a truly bespoke experience. The dial architecture is finished with a concave rehaut at the periphery featuring stud shaped hour markers, and beautifully faceted sword shaped central hour and minutes hands. Declaring the unique provenance of the model, each piece will bear a colour matched Pièce Unique inscription between the three and four o’clock.

Inside beats the manual wind Manufacture MR03 mechanical calibre which is designed and produced in-house. Immaculately executed throughout, two of the bridges have been decorated Côtes de Gèneve, while the third features a hand-engraved Manufacture Royale logo. Operating at 21’600 vph the calibre has a significant power reserve of 108 hours when fully wound.

Manufactured in a series of six individual bespoke versions, with each timepiece enjoying exclusive Pièce Unique status, the Manufacture Royale 1770 Royal Bridges Flying Tourbillon comes presented on a high-tech fabric strap secured with a stainless steel pin buckle.
