Presented in a limited edition of only 59 pieces, the La Petite Seconde Metropolis Louis Erard x The Horophile Slate watch is brimming with stylish nuances that capture the essence of New York Art Deco style. Born from a collaboration between Louis Erard and well known watch enthusiast and influencer, Amr Sindi, aka The Horophile, this exceptional piece perfectly expresses the clean, sleek, minimalist lines of the 1920s, but with a contemporary twist that instantly blurs the lines between two centuries. Presented in a stainless steel casing, and featuring a wonderfully muted slate grey dial tone, this superb edition forms part of a new sub-collection within the acclaimed Louis Erard flagship Petite Seconde series.
Dressed in slate grey, the dial of the watch has a mesmerising three-dimensional concentric decoration at its centre, complemented by subtle concentric décor on the surface of the small seconds dial which is inset at the six o’clock location.
On the outer dial, the chapter ring has a brushed finish, upon which the double line geometric numerals adhere to the ‘neo-deco’ styling cues of the watch, while the skeletonised Empire hour and minute hands are so-named for their steeped profile which is inspired by the iconic architecture of the Empire State Building. Allowing the richness of the dial surface to dominate, it remains beautifully uncluttered, with the small seconds indications reduced to one single dot, and the watch face remaining bereft of any branding.
The La Petite Seconde Metropolis Louis Erard x The Horophile Slate resides in a rounded stainless steel case, sized at 39mm with a height of 12.82mm. A high polish finish enhances its rounded architecture, while a rounded bezel, flowing lugs and a knurled crown add further distinction to its profile.
Viewable through the sapphire crystal exhibition caseback, the élaboré grade Swiss mechanical Sellita SW261-1 self-winding movement features a semi-skeletonised Louis Erard oscillating weight, and it boasts a power reserve of thirty-eight hours, beating at a brisk 28’800 vib/h.
A piece which exhibits an abundance of unique and well-thought styling nuances evocative of the Art Deco style, the Louis Erard Excellence La Petite Seconde Metropolis Louis Erard x The Horophile Slate watch comes presented on a dark brown grained calf leather strap, secured via a polished steel pin buckle. This edition is strictly limited to 59 pieces.
