The Atelier Wen Inflection represents a significant technical milestone: the first serially produced integrated bracelet watch constructed entirely from 99.9% pure tantalum, a material rarely used due to its extreme density, machining difficulty, and inert chemical properties. The 40mm case (45mm lug-to-lug, 15mm thickness) and full bracelet are both executed in this refractory metal, with complex alternating concave and convex geometries, finished across brushed, sandblasted, and mirror-polished planes demanding substantial manual refinement.

Time is displayed over a multi-fired grand feu enamel dial produced by Kong Lingjun’s Beijing atelier, the national reference for enamel dial manufacturing in China. Each dial sits atop a hand-finished 925 silver base and undergoes up to six high-temperature firings (750–850°C), resulting in exceptionally stable, vibrant colour. Arabic numerals are rendered in a custom typeface, paired with tri-planar leaf hands featuring contrasting frosted and polished surfaces.

Driving the Inflection is a customised Girard-Perregaux GP03300, a 27-jewel automatic calibre (28,800 vph, 48h power reserve), adjusted in five positions and to temperature, and equipped with hacking seconds. The movement features ruthenium-plated bridges skeletonised into curved wind-inspired forms, hand-finished with anglage, sharp exterior angles, and laser-etched radial côtes. A two-part rotor, with a tungsten mass and skeletonised rose gold-plated brass spokes, completes the architecture and aligns visually during rotation. Sapphire crystals with five-layer anti-reflective coatings are fitted front and back, with a screw-down crown ensuring 100m water resistance. The integrated tantalum bracelet tapers from 22mm to 18mm and includes a patent-pending on-the-fly micro-adjustment system with four positions.

Three dial variants are offered:

Yōu (fumé green, limited to 30 pieces)
Mò (obsidian black)
Yuān (midnight blue)

Total annual production is limited to 100 pieces, reinforcing its exclusivity within contemporary independent watchmaking.
