Not limited to its highly original design accents, this outstanding model features a state-of-the-art manual-winding tourbillon movement wholly developed in-house by Horage. An exceptional example of contemporary independent watchmaking, the Lensman 1.1 is presented in a limited release of only 299 pieces.
The Horage Lensman 1.1 has a number of visual highlights throughout its arrangement which display both the technical acumen and also the spirited approach to watch design which Horage have exhibited since their founding. Seamlessly incorporating styling cues influenced by the profile and architecture of a camera lens, this edition also introduces the iconic colour of the photography world to the series, with a dial enhanced by vivid red tones.
The Lensman 1.1 watch by Horage carries a Grade 5 titanium casing with a satin finished waist that has been laser etched with the markings of an f/0.95 aperture ring, which those familiar with the genre will recognise as being distinct for its ability to capture the fastest images. Measuring 41mm across and 10.3mm tall, it is topped with a polished bezel featuring a notched surround, evocative of the appearance of the manual camera lens zoom adjustment.
Beneath a subtly curved sapphire crystal the all black dial features applied black gold indices with red Super-LumiNova, and their polished surfaces transform from light catching reflection during the day, to a vivid red glow in low light conditions, complementing the diamond-cut hands, which have Super-LumiNova inserts that emit a green glow after dark. Dominating the display is the superb flying tourbillon which rotates in a sixty second cycle beneath a sapphire cyclops loupe above the six o'clock position, which magnifies the fascinating mechanical animation of the regulating device.
With its cage manufactured in Grade 5 titanium and its escapement components, and now its hairspring too, produced entirely in silicon, the Lensman 1.1’s tourbillon is a groundbreaking technical achievement, weighing only 0.29 grammes and resting on ceramic bearings. These lightweight and low maintenance materials make the tiny regulating device among the most efficient and technically advanced in the industry, and contribute to the K-TOU movement's highly impressive 120 hours of power reserve, derived from its single barrel, while boasting C.O.S.C. chronometer standard accuracy, as well as prolonged intervals between the need for servicing.
On the underside, a sapphire exhibition caseback reveals the contemporary architecture of the Horage K-TOU calibre, which beats at 25,200 vib/h (3.5Hz). Apart from the silicon components, which are sourced nearby in Germany, the movement is a feat of in-house innovation and is entirely designed, developed and manufactured in Switzerland by Horage.
The Horage Lensman 1.1 watch comes presented on a black calf leather strap featuring camera body inspired texturing, with a red underside. The model is strictly limited to 299 pieces.
Priced at CHF 9,490, the Lensman 1.1 Tourbillon is available for a limited period at an early bird offer of CHF 8,990, which closes on June 9th 2023. Any remaining pieces which have not been already sold, will then revert to the higher price.
