Representing a technical triumph for this youthful independent watchmaking company, the Horage Autark Tourbillon Sunray Black Dial watch introduces a new Swiss-made micro-rotor tourbillon movement to their evolving portfolio. Presented in a Grade 5 titanium case and bracelet combination, the model is a superb proposition for both the seasoned collector and for new enthusiasts of horology, and is one that offers an unmissable pre-ordering opportunity.

The Autark Tourbillon Sunray Black Dial watch has a number of visual highlights throughout its arrangement, not least its superb Swiss micro-rotor tourbillon movement, wholly developed in-house by Horage. A state-of-the-art calibre through and through, the K-TMR is the fourth in-house calibre to be developed by this dynamic young Swiss company, which on its own is an incredible achievement, and one that speaks volumes for the inventive ethos displayed thus far by Horage.

Featuring the rarity of a micro-rotor winding system, combined with a tourbillon escapement, the creation of the in-house K-TMR movement required considerable development in order to ensure optimum delivery of its energy and precision timekeeping. With this in mind, Horage equipped the calibre with a micro-rotor manufactured from platinum which, due to the density of the material, allows for superb rewinding of the mainspring, with even the most subtle movement of the wrist, deriving a generous 72 hour power reserve. Furthermore, by using silicon for the escapement and the hairspring due to its non-magnetic properties, titanium for the cage of the flying tourbillon, and with intensive technical acumen having been invested in the geometry of the gear train, the K-TMR calibre is arguably one of the most innovative micro-rotor tourbillon calibres ever to be unveiled within the watchmaking landscape.

In addition to the advanced engineering of the movement, it is beautifully hand-finished too, and notably, the client can choose from a trio of mainplate colours with options of Sporty Red, Deep Blue or Classic Anthracite. Viewable through the sapphire caseback, one can view the contemporary architecture of the movement with the modern cutaway sections of the mainplate showcasing elements of the movement.

The Autark Tourbillon carries a Grade 5 titanium case sized at 39.5mm across, and thanks to the inclusion of a micro-rotor within the movement, it is incredibly slender at just under 9mm tall. Complex in character, it is of a multi-layer construction, and it exhibits both polished and brushed finishes and is complemented by a stylish integrated bracelet featuring the company’s proprietary micro-adjustment buckle.

Beneath a subtly curved sapphire crystal, the sunray black dial features applied indices accompanied by red dot markers at each hour, and partially skeletonised hands. And, with a liberal coating of Super-LumiNova on each element that emits a vivid green glow, readability is enabled when the lighting is poor. At the six o’clock, the flying tourbillon incorporates a small seconds indication with a single blued screw providing a reference point. A dominant feature, the tourbillon demands attention, but the signature crisp styling employed by Horage results in a dial arrangement that is quietly elegant, uncluttered and modern.

With an opening early bird offer of CHF 9,990, rising by CHF 100 each week, up to its final rrp of CHF14,990, the Horage Autark Tourbillon Sunray Black Dial watch is available now on a pre-order basis. As this means a rapidly moving price point, please contact us to confirm pricing at the time of ordering.
