Displaying superb artisanship throughout, the Sarek Trollius II watch by GoS is characterised by the meticulous finishing which is synonymous with this unique independent watchmaking company. From its elaborate hand-engraved casing to its damascus steel dial, this is a beautifully executed timepiece and with a production of only 4 pieces per year, the client can be assured of exclusivity. Powered by an automatic calibre by acclaimed movement Manufacture La Joux-Perret, and presented on a Moose leather strap, the Sarek Trollius II introduces a newly designed casing with a smaller diameter to the Sarek portfolio.

Exquisite hand-engraving by Swedish craftsman, Anders Hedlund, is complemented by the infinite patterning brought by a dial of damascus steel, ensuring that each timepiece in this series is brimming with unique nuances. The watch is crafted as an ode to the stark beauty of Scandinavia, and in particular Sweden’s Sarek National Park, where the yellow-budded flower, the Trollius Europaeus flourishes in its natural habitat.

Sized at 41.5mm, with a height of 11mm, and newly designed to incorporate shortened lugs, the stainless steel case of the GoS Sarek Trollius II represents the floral theme through decorative, painstakingly executed engraving. Individually worked by the renowned knife-maker, Anders Hedlund, the leaf-patterned scrollwork on the lugs and caseback has extraordinary depth, while on the bezel, the elaborate texture of a repeating leaf pattern immediately catches the eye.

Studded onto the scalloped case sides, golden pins recall the resplendence of the buds of the Trollius Europaeus flower. As if to represent the signature of Anders Hedlund, these precious elements, which are also synonymous with high-end knife making, add a masculine aesthetic to the watch.

The embellished case of the Sarek Trollius II piece by GoS is matched by the flawless subtleties of the artisan dial. Individually crafted using ancient techniques, multiple layers of the hard metal are repeatedly fired, folded, hammered and polished, emerging as exquisite slivers with vivid colour subtleties. Under such a process, exclusivity is ensured. No two dials can ever be the same.

On the outer dial, a ring of hand blown Swedish crystal recessed into the damascus steel dial serves as a chapter ring. Edged in hand-applied gold enamel, and accompanied by milled hour indices with the same finish, the glass ring enables a view through to the pattern of the damascus steel, but when viewed from certain angles, the golden enamelled nuances create a resplendent glow. From the centre, the highly polished spear-shaped hour and minutes hands echo the form of Viking weaponry, and they are complemented by an elongated seconds hand.

The scrollwork of the engraving spills over onto the caseback, where it frames a sapphire section which reveals the architecture of the G101 automatic calibre by La Joux-Perret. Finished in anthracite, the movement adheres to the styling cues of the watch, and the skeletonised rotor is further embellished with the company’s distinctive Triskele symbol at its centre.

Boasting the uniqueness of an original artisanal case and dial, each Gos Sarek Trollius II watch comes presented on a hand-made moose leather strap which secures to the wrist with a stainless steel deployant clasp featuring the GoS logo. With a release of only 4 pieces per year, each model in this exclusive series will be hand engraved on its caseback denoting the model number of each watch, from 1 to 4 followed by the year of its production.
