Featuring impressive hand craftsmanship throughout, the Fears Garrick watch is a  timepiece that Britain can truly call her own. Created through a partnership between Norfolk-based Garrick Watch Co. who are at the forefront of the current British watchmaking revival, and Fears, one of Britain’s oldest watchmaking names, one can be in no doubt of the provenance and authenticity of this fine wristwatch edition.

While highly contemporary in construction and character, the Fears Garrick watch also references an era when British atelier crafted timepieces were the envy of the world. A defining timepiece which represents the values of Fears and Garrick, it is abound with subtle historical references and is distinctive for its satisfying level of hand finishing.

The model carries a curved 42mm casing of 904L stainless steel, hand made in England by Garrick. The Old English White dial of the watch has a fine textured surface reminiscent of traditional paper and against its matte finish, the hand applied “Edwin” typeface numerals and glossy black printed markers stand out wonderfully. The arrangement of the dial is one which evokes well considered design and its layout displays elegant equipoise. At the two o’clock, the power reserve indication is accompanied by a recessed small seconds at the ten, with the diminutive proportions of both allowing the eye to be drawn to the open sector on the lower portion, which gives one a glimpse of the exclusive Garrick in-house free sprung balance at work.  Notably the hands are crafted in house, and their blued surface, together with the black gold alloy coating on the numerals is superb agains the plainness of the pristine dial surface.

Viewed through the sapphire case back, the Garrick UT-G04 manual wind movement exhibits meticulous finishing with classical English hand frosting on the bridges and plates together with contemporary dark Rhodium plating. Entirely hand finished by Garrick in their workshop in Norfolk, the manual wind calibre has a power reserve of 45 hours.

The Fears Garrick wears on a handmade leather strap in Fears Blue. The watch comes presented in a bespoke wooden box crafted from English Ash, which is stained in dark blue and lined with genuine suede.
