Heralding a brand new collection for this prestigious independent watchmaking company, the Czapek Promenade Goutte d’Eau watch is an incredibly stylish and aesthetically stunning timepiece. Featuring a magnificent sapphire blue dial rendered in Grand Feu enamel by the acclaimed artisans Donzé Cadrans, this exceptional Métiers d'Art edition showcases a unique, minimalist asymmetrical dial arrangement. Housed within a beautifully finished 38mm stainless steel case, the watch enjoys the advantage of the acclaimed automatic Czapek SXH5 in-house mechanical calibre, decorated to Haute Horlogerie standards, and is released in a limited edition of only 100 pieces.

Exhibiting purity and astounding depth and beauty, the dial of the Czapek Promenade Goutte d’Eau watch has been crafted in collaboration with Donzé Cadrans who are renowned for their creativity and exquisite artisanship. Entitled Goutte d’Eau, meaning drops of water, the surface captures to wonderful effect the undulating waves one would see after a single droplet casts mesmerising ripples upon the surface of a still pond. Demonstrating superb illusory characteristics, each tiny wave draws the eye from the small seconds at 4.30, outward to the expanse of the velvety deep sapphire blue lacquerwork that is alive with hand-crafted nuances, and the visual pleasure is further enhanced with each subtle movement of the wrist. Deliberately, Czapek have chosen to allow the full effect of the artwork to dominate the dial, so bereft of numerals the indications are reduced to their essentia, with finely crafted arrow-shaped and skeletonised hands for the hours and minutes, with a diminutive example for the small seconds.

Manufactured from stainless steel, the proportions of the watch adhere to the elegant styling codes that are at the heart of the new Promenade collection. Measuring 38mm in diameter and with a height of only 10.8mm, the case displays recessed and sand-blasted sides, and has the refinement of a gently curved guard around its crown. Ensuring a full view of the dial, the case is fitted with a box-sapphire crystal, and a trim, rounded bezel.

Beating within, and viewable through the sapphire crystal caseback, the superb SXH5 in-house automatic calibre is designed and developed in-house by Czapek. Finished to the exacting standards of haute horlogerie it features a sandblasted black German silver mainplate, with mirror polishing, anglage and bevelling applied by hand to its components. Fully visible through the sapphire caseback, its series of cascading skeletonised bridges, and the inner workings and detailing of the free sprung balance and going train of interconnecting wheels and gears are revealed. Offset and fitted flush onto the main plate, the 100% recycled solid platinum micro rotor provides the chronometer-rated 28’800vib/h mechanism with a minimum of 60 hours of power reserve when fully wound.

Released in a strictly limited edition of only 100 pieces, the Czapek Promenade Goutte d’Eau watch is presented on a dark blue leather strap.
