KLEPCYS DICE RACING BLACK DLC TITANIUM AND CARBON

Presented in a 15 piece limited edition, the Klepcys DICE Racing Black DLC Titanium and Carbon chronograph by independent watch company Cyrus of Geneva captures the essence of motorsport through its technically challenging mechanical arrangement and its colourful aesthetics.

Under the leadership of the renowned master watchmaker Jean-François Mojon, independent watchmaking Manufacture, Cyrus are renowned for their innovational and progressive horological achievements. The company’s Double Independent Chronograph Evolution, or DICE, enables the user to time two separate events simultaneously, via a complex but intuitive red and blue colour-coded solution. Forming part of this remarkable series of watches, the Klepcys DICE Racing watch affirms the intimate links which the company have with motor racing, and in particular with Formula 1 as official sponsor of the HAAS F1 team.

The cushion shaped casing of the watch is constructed from Grade 5 titanium, which has been treated with black DLC and is sized at 42mm diameter, with a height of 16.5mm. Marking a departure for the brand, the DICE Racing features a sporty black matte carbon fibre bezel whose characteristic weave texture promises that each model will be unique. The two opposing crowns at the three and nine o’clock positions, each distinguishable by their blue and red collars, correlate with the two chronograph indications on the dial. Operating independently each chronograph is operated via a dedicated monopusher either side of the case, enabling the start/stop/reset modes for the chronograph timers on the dial.

The dial aspect of the watch is of a three dimensional arrangement and is brimming with contemporary colour tones which enhance the usability of its functions, and give the watch a vibrant, contemporary feel. The column wheels for the chronographs are fully visible at the twelve and the six, with red and blue respectively. A press on the three o’clock crown sets both the chrono seconds hands in motion, along with the 20-minute chrono counter which is displayed on a sapphire disc at the three o’clock. As the second timed event begins, the nine o’clock pusher activates the count of the blue hand from the six o’clock position, and with both hands measuring different times, the seconds are read via the grey rehaut around the dial which is marked with red and blue references.

The hours and minutes are displayed via open-worked rhodium-plated hands with luminous tips. Upon a sapphire dial the raised arabic numerals appear to float and with each element lumed to emit a blue glow readability is ensured. Completing the symmetrical dial architecture, a small seconds at the nine is equipped with a hand which takes the form of a rotating three-armed Cyrus motif.

Visible through the sapphire caseback, the self-winding calibre CRY718 is a fully in-house designed and developed movement. Beating at 28’800 vib/hour and with a power reserve of 55 hours from a single barrel, the movement features anthracite NAC bridges and the plates and the skeletonised rotor are executed with a sunray decoration.

With production limited to only 15 pieces, the Cyrus Klepcys DICE Racing Black DLC Titanium and Carbon watch is an exclusive piece of contemporary haute horlogerie with a high-tech twist, and in keeping with its sporty personality, is fitted with a red Cordura fabric strap secured with a titanium folding clasp with Cyrus motif.
