Presented in a limited edition of only 25 pieces, the Angelus Chronodate Titanium White is outstanding in its construction and arrangement. Without doubt a thoroughbred sports timekeeper, this model comes from the portfolio of a company who have a legacy rich with innovative mechanisms and complications, and in particular, the legendary Angelus Chronodato watches from the 1940s. Since their acquisition by Swiss movement manufacturer La Joux-Perret in 2015, Angelus have enjoyed the technical input of this acclaimed movement maker, and this edition enjoys the advantage of a precision in-house Manufacture automatic movement with column-wheel and horizontal clutch chronograph arrangement.

Rendered in opaline white with a beautiful frosted finish at its centre, the dial of the Angelus Chronodate Titanium White is enhanced with nuances of black and red. Designed to be highly legible, the watch features well-proportioned in-set counters for the small seconds and the 30-minute timer. Giving a sense of depth, the hour numerals are applied, and together with the hour and minute hands these elements have been enhanced with Super-LumiNova which emits a blue glow. From the centre, the red-tipped chronograph hand is joined by a pointer date hand, which stretches out with a red arrow-tip to its display at the perimeter.

Measuring 42.5mm across, the Angelus Chronodate Titanium White's casing is beautifully executed and highly complex. The 12-notched bezel, crown and case middle are of lightweight yet highly durable titanium. Introducing cutting-edge materials to the mix, the movement is cradled within a carbon fibre composite inner casing with the pushers, also in carbon fibre connecting directly to it. Lending a further technical aspect, the bezel ring is also rendered from carbon fibre. Alternating angles and curves on the profile of the case give the Chronodate Titanium White by Angelus a contemporary sports feel and with openworked lugs which are styled to embrace the blue rubber strap, it wears at a comfortable wrist height of 14.25mm.

Beating within Angelus’ Chronodate Titanium White, the automatic in-house Manufacture A-500 movement by La Joux-Perret incorporates a column wheel and horizontal coupling clutch mechanism, the defining feature of a high-end chronograph complication. Visible through the sapphire caseback, the calibre has a contemporary finish, with NAC-treated and micro-blasted bridges and an 18ct red gold rotor, decorated with the company’s signature ‘A’ motif. Equipped with a power reserve of 60 hours, it has a frequency of 28’800 vib/h.
