With only three examples produced, the Pure Resonance Sky Blue Special Edition by Armin Strom is one of the Swiss independent watch manufacturer's most exclusive editions.
A watch of groundbreaking technical innovation and breathtaking aesthetic beauty, it features an off-centre time display which reveals the company's in-house designed and developed movement, and its remarkable patented Huygens Resonance Clutch Spring, through which the oscillations of its two independent balance wheels are synchronised in the captivating dial side spectacle of the phenomena of resonance in action.
Against a backdrop of meticulous haute horlogerie finishing, which include Côtes de Genève stripes and immaculate anglage around the rhodium plated bridges, the visually arresting hue of the Sky Blue dial stands out prominently. Manufactured by Kari Voutilainen's Comblémine atelier, the centre of the dial is adorned with lavish Grain d'Orge guilloché decoration with fine white roman numerals, while the small offset seconds has a snailed pattern of concentric circles.
Measuring 42mm across and 12mm tall, the Pure Resonance Sky Blue is encased in 18ct white gold, with polished upward-facing surfaces, which contrast with the vertical grained brushed finish around the waist of the case. A sapphire caseback reveals the symmetry of the Manufacture Calibre ARF16 manual winding movement, with its two openworked barrels. Boasting a power reserve of 48 hours, the in-house movement beats at 25,200 vib/h (3.5Hz).
Offered in mint pre-owned condition, this exceptional piece comes with original packaging and documents, as well as The Limited Edition's SKIES one year warranty (dated 2021).
