Adam Rotation “ADR” from Ludek Seryn builds directly on the foundations laid by the Karel Rotation, introducing fresh complications and engineering solutions. Case height has been reduced by 8mm to just 13.5mm, achieved by eliminating the bridge for a cleaner back profile. Automatic winding is preserved through a peripheral rotor coupled with a patented cycloidal gearbox. This reducer, using dual cycloidal wheels, represents a first in watchmaking. It allows efficient energy transmission from rotor to mainspring while offering mechanical elegance visible from the caseback. Hand setting follows the Karel system, controlled via a detachable key housed between 1 and 2 o’clock. Minute indication adjusts in discrete jumps forward or backwards, depending on key position, while hours advance by rotating the key to the left. Dual movements linked through a differential ensure independence, mounted on a rotating base that completes a full revolution every eight hours.

Case dimensions measure 44mm across with a 37mm sapphire crystal, housing calibre ADR V1.0. Operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour, the movement consists of 180 components, 52 jewels, and a single barrel providing a 45-hour reserve. A single differential underpins the rotation system. Construction employs a Phoenix case type crafted in 750/1000 gold or optionally 950/1000 platinum, weighing 140g. Clients may specify movement colour and case finishing, ensuring each example remains distinct with its sapphire crystal protecting the dial, maintaining clarity and resilience.
