Taking its place within the the prestigious ladies portfolio of Arnold and Son, the Perpetual Moon 38 Red Gold Blue Aventurine watch showcases the most charming of all watchmaking complications, the moonphase. Crafted in a style that reflects the company’s passion for both technically masterful watchmaking, and for artisanship, the watch features a dial of exceptional visual depth beauty.
The watch carries a dial crafted from a sliver of deep blue Aventurine glass, with the sparkling surface of the material evoking the twinkling stars of the night sky. Upon a disc of Aventurine glass that has been hand-painted with the constellations of Cassiopeia and Ursa Major, the pristine mother-of-pearl makes a captivating transit, changing position each day as its glides across the golden rimmed arc-shaped aperture. Golden hands for the hours and minutes and faceted hour markers complete the arrangement, while after dark, the lume enhancement on the moon and the constellations glow, giving the dial an ethereal aspect.
The watch is presented in a 38mm rounded case of 18ct red gold, with a height 10.44mm, with a high polish finish on the lugs, crown and the slender bezel. On turning over, a sapphire crystal caseback reveals the decoration and hand finishing which has been applied throughout the A&S1612 manual winding movement. A technical masterpiece, which has a depth of only 4.95mm, it boasts a moonphase so accurate that if the watch is kept constantly wound, it will maintain an accuracy of 122 years. Equipped with a 90 hour power reserve, it is impeccably finished with radiating stripes of Côtes de Genève on the mainplate, polished and chamfered bridges, and circular brushed wheels.
