Featuring one of the most challenging technical combinations of horologic complications, the magnificent Tondagraphe by independent watch company Parmigiani Fleurier is a piece which is filled with alluring detail to please the eye, as well as being one into which many hundreds of highly skilled man hours have been invested to create this neo-classical masterpiece.

Equipped with an exquisite movement which has been entirely designed, developed and manufactured in house, the Tondagraphe is a showcase of the abilities of this comparatively small company, although over the twenty years of its existence, it has grown to become a well established firm, with a centre of watchmaking excellence in the Swiss town of Fleurier, where much of this work is done.

Truly a piece for the most discerning collector of exceptional and exclusive timepieces, the Parmigiani Fleurier Tondagraphe is distinguished and outstanding in a gleaming 43mm case of polished white gold with those signature sweeping comma-like lugs, and round chronograph pushers either side of the crown.

Beneath the sapphire crystal the dial of the Parmigiani Fleurier Tondagraphe is rich in contrast and fine detailing. Mostly black, a snailed circular decoration in its recessed centre has gold hour indices, and is surrounded by a smooth opaline ring with arabic numerals. Gold hands with luminous coating indicate the hours and minutes, with silvered subdials for the small seconds at the nine and thirty-minute chronograph at the three. The power reserve is shown at the twelve, and elsewhere, cutaway sections reveal its most intimate secrets, with the tourbillon mesmerizingly rotating every sixty seconds at the six, and above the centre the barrel has a perlage finish.

Turned over, a sapphire crystal caseback reveals the watchmaker’s masterful craftsmanship on the spectacular PF354 manual winding movement. Featuring integrated chronograph and tourbillon it is a particularly challenging horological undertaking, and throughout each component has been laboriously finished and polished by hand using traditional techniques, with gold coloured wheels contrasting against perlage, satin brushed chronograph elements, and Côtes de Genève decoration on the bridges. Its barrel stores an impressive 72 hours of power reserve and it beats at 21’600vph.

A masterpiece of Haute Horlogerie in every aspect of its manufacture, assembly and finishing, the Parmigiani Fleurier Tondagraphe is a study in watchmaking mastery. It is presented on a black alligator leather strap by Hermès with folding deployant clasp.
