Parmigiani Fleurier Ovale Tourbillon

Celebrating one of the most noble of all horological complications in an immaculately appointed setting, the Parmigiani Fleurier Ovale Tourbillon is a truly superlative wristwatch, which is as stunning on the eye as it is breathtaking in its complexity. Manufactured to uncompromising standards by the hands of the skilled watchmakers of this exceptional independent watch company, this is a piece for the most discerning collector.

Presented in an oval case of gleaming 18Kt rose gold, the Parmigiani Fleurier Ovale Tourbillon is cradled by four curvaceous lugs, which are individually soldered to the side, shaped like gold commas. Measuring almost 45mm from lug tip to lug tip and 37.6mm across its midpoint, It’s distinguished and majestic in its appearance.

That presence is accentuated by the sublime blue dial, which in place of a typically flat surface, is decorated with Côtes de Genève striping, creating an effect in which the shading of the abyss blue seems to fade in and out between one stripe and the next. It features tapering gold hour indices and hands which provides an excellent contrast to the blue dial underneath. The hands are coated with Super-LumiNova and so are clear and legible in light or low light environments.

The power reserve indicator is recessed below the twelve, but it’s the constant animation of the thirty second tourbillon in its aperture at the six which is the pièce de résistance. Rotating at twice the rate of most tourbillons, this was a world first for Parmigiani Fleurier and as well as being a novelty of significant note, is also more precise too.

On the underside, a sapphire crystal caseback reveals the PF501 manual winding PF331 movement, which has been fully manufactured in house, showcasing the meticulous watchmaking for which Parmigiani Fleurier is renowned.

With polished, rounded anglage defining its bevelled edges, screws which are deeply seated in perfectly polished chatons and Côtes de Genève striping it is an exquisitely appointed construction of mechanical horology, and with its two barrels delivers seven days of reserve when fully wound.

A masterpiece of haute horlogerie in every aspect of its manufacture, assembly and finishing, the Parmigiani Fleurier Ovale Tourbillon is presented on a dark blue alligator leather strap by Hermès with folding deployant clasp.
