The Parmigiani Fleurier Ovale Pantographe is a truly magnificent piece and an example of what makes this independent watch company so special. Distinguished and eyecatching it combines an elaborate design with the prestige of rose gold, and boasts a horological novelty which is both complex and thoroughly intriguing to behold.
Measuring 45mm from lug tip to lug tip, and just under 38mm across, the oval case sits with elegant poise on the wrist and is refined yet sophisticated, with its long lugs gracefully curving like gold teardrops and the crown fluted.
Beneath the sapphire crystal, the dial is silver in colour, with a fine Guilloché Grain d'orge decoration and applied black PVD coated numerals and indices. It features a tapering arc aperture to indicate the current power reserve below the twelve and another rounded window for the date at the six, but it’s the mechanical ingenuity of its pantograph hands which are this piece’s most distinctive features. Thanks to a cam-like module at the centre and articulated joints, they expand and retract in a scissor action, so whatever time of day they are at the perfect length to contact the markers around the oval dial.
On the underside, the manual winding PF111 movement is visible through a sapphire caseback. An exquisitely crafted showcase of the skills of the Parmigiani Fleurier watchmakers it is manufactured entirely in 18Kt rose gold and features hand polished anglage around the edges of its plates and bridges, Côtes de Genève striping and a beautiful swan neck balance cock, it is manufactured in house it boasts eight days of power reserve from its two barrels.
The Parmigiani Fleurier Ovale Pantographe is an exceptional piece throughout, and is presented on a black alligator leather strap by Hermès with folding deployant clasp.
