Parmigiani Fleurier Kalpa Kalpagraphe

In its complex tonneau shaped case of polished 18Kt rose gold, the Parmigiani Fleurier Kalpa Kalpagraphe is a superb contemporary wristwatch which combines sportiness, distinction and reserve. From lug tip to lug tip its barrel-like profile curves gently outwards at its mid point, before tapering in again, so that at its widest it measures just over 39mm across, while in length, the case measures 44.5mm, and offers up the chronograph in stylish elegance.

Beneath the sapphire crystal, the silver dial features fancy gold arabic numerals and tapering indices which are applied to the surface, adding depth. It is thoughtfully configured, to be clear and legible as a timekeeper as well as highlighting its chronograph functionality for when the precise measurement of elapsed time are required. To achieve this, the outlines of the black 30-minute and 12-hour chronograph subdials are conjoined within a gold border, and with their snailed finish, which contrasts against the otherwise black background, stand out from the rest of the dial. Once activated by the larger of the two chrono stop/start and reset pushers on the side of the case, and the big central seconds hand begins to record a lap time or event, and quick and easy referencing throughout the period is intuitive.

Less conspicuous is the small seconds display which is positioned at the three o’clock position, where the little gold pointer runs constantly. The gold delta shaped hours and minutes hands taper to a point and are coated with Super LumiNova. The date is displayed via the silver disc which rotates behind a window just above the Parmigiani Fleurier logo.

Underneath, another sapphire crystal reveals the hand finishing on the in house PF334 integrated chronograph self winding movement. Côtes de Genève stripes and rounded anglage on the bridges display the brand’s uncompromising devotion to lifting even the smallest detail. Thanks to the two barrels it boasts at least 55 hours of power reserve while beating at 28’800 vph.

The Kalpa Kalpagraphe is presented on a black alligator leather strap with folding deployant clasp.
