Mühle Seebataillon GMT M1-28-62-KB

Mühle Seebataillon GMT  M1-28-62-KB

Designed for a life in demanding situations the Mühle Seebataillon GMT is a robust professional instrument with outstanding legibility and 24-hour/GMT, encased in a light-wearing 45mm titanium case on a black natural rubber strap with folding clasp.

Based in the heartland of fine German watchmaking in their home town of Glashütte, the Mühle watch company have established a strong reputation for hard-wearing, functional watches and a high quality, no frills approach to watchmaking. Their watches have often been commissioned by a wide range of professional and military services for their practicality and reliability, and their ergonomic styling transfers perfectly to an active civilian lifestyle.

For the soldiers of the Deutchse Marine Seebataillon, which serves around the world protecting German naval installations and assets, or shipping against piracy, the new Seebataillon GMT automatic is a commanding wristwatch in a light titanium case with bold purposeful features and vivid legibility in day, or in the dark of night.

The broad uni-directional rotating bezel is edged with tactile finger-friendly grip bumps, for unerring accuracy when setting the sixty-minute dive scale which is printed onto a blue anodized aluminium insert. Beneath the thick domed sapphire crystal a deep blue dial provides an ideal contrast to its Super LumiNova hour markers and indices, whilst three quarters of the broad black steel hands and the arrow tip of the seconds pointer are generously coated in the same green-glowing luminous material, creating the illusion which makes them appear to ‘float’ in low light conditions. The date window is unobtrusive but clear to read at the 4 o’clock position.

In the same yellow as the lettering on the dial, the GMT function uses a skeletonised arrow to read the 24-hour clock, or to set to keep tabs on a second time zone using the yellow printed rehaut around the rim of the dial.

The crown is positioned at the four for increased comfort and mobility, and screws in securely protected by knock resisting shoulders. Overturned the titanium bezel has deep screw holes and Seebataillon dedication, and the vented rotor of the self winding ETA 2893-2 movement is displayed through the sapphire caseback.
