A stunning example of Independent Watchmaking, the Manufacture Royale ADN Steel DLC Forged Carbon watch promotes a powerful wrist presence. While the piece has a resolutely contemporary personality its fine finishing will leave its wearer in no doubt of its Haute Horlogerie credentials. Although defined by an infusion of innovative styling and avant-garde materials the model retains elements of traditional watchmaking prowess as evidence of the rich heritage of this prestigious marque.
The watch carries a spectacular multi-part case, sized at 46mm, which despite its generous proportions has been endowed with ingenious mobile lugs, enabling a surprisingly ergonomic experience.
Constructed from black forged carbon fibre and DLC coated stainless steel, the case structure comprises of 52 components, and it takes the form of a rounded central section which is cradled on tubular limbs in forged carbon.
Enhancing the industrial aesthetic, the bezel takes the form of a porthole, into which twelve countersunk screws serve as hour markers. Brimming with unexpected details and angles, this stealthy housing confirms the unique character of this extraordinary watch.
Arranged beneath the sapphire crystal, the technical, symmetrical layout of sculpted and angular bridges is unveiled. Sandblasted to a frosted finish and then coated with a deep blue chemical vapour deposit, the mechanical exposé is stunning.
The time is displayed via skeletonised steel hands for the hours and minutes, which are tipped with white luminous accents, and they are complemented by a small seconds subdial at the 9 o’clock position. At the 12 and 6 o’clock locations a pair of pale blue sapphire glass panels bear luminous white numerals.
A little further in, the barrel is skeletonised, revealing the mainspring within, and the balance and escapement assembly are also visible, animating the dial area with its rapid oscillating pulse beneath the 6.
Revealed through the exhibition sapphire caseback, the hand winding MR010 movement which has been produced using traditional artisanal techniques can be appreciated. Beating at 28’800 vph it boasts a power reserve of at least 48 hours when fully wound.
An exceptional watch of uncompromising modern design and superb technical finesse, the Manufacture Royale ADN Steel DLC Forged Carbon watch comes presented on an alligator leather or rubber strap with stainless steel folding buckle.
