LOUIS MOINET MEMORIS SPIRIT TITANIUM BLACK

Featuring a new case design, brimming with contemporary nuances, the Memoris Spirit watch by Louis Moinet evolves a portfolio already rich with beautifully crafted sports timekeepers. A company for whom the chronograph is deeply embedded within their heritage, this exclusive Louis Monet edition has the distinction of a visually stunning dial side exposé of the intricate mechanisms of the complication.

Exhibiting design finesse throughout, the case of the watch has been crafted to frame and showcase Louis Moinet’s technical mastery of the chronograph and to offer the wearer an intimate connection with its complex arrangement. Offering classical proportions and a svelte contour, the casing measures 40.7mm in diameter and is crafted from Grade 5 titanium. Skeletonised lugs extend gracefully to integrate the strap to the casing, ensuring  comfort on the wrist and reinforcing the sporty personality of the piece. At 3 o’clock, the winding crown is neatly tucked in within a trimmed guard, while the single pusher has a satisfying presence and a textured Clous de Paris decoration. The aesthetic appeal of the watch is further enhanced by a box sapphire crystal which curves and flows over the trim bezel onto the case side.

The form of the box sapphire accentuates the three dimensional perspective of the dial side layout, and at the perimeter the ingenious double-reading flange, which enables dual reading of the tachymeter scale and the chronograph seconds,  immediately catches the eye. Rendered in black, and paired with an off-centred dial also in black, the effect is stunning. For this edition, contemporary baton markers and faceted hands enable intuitive reading of the hours and minutes.  A pair of clear sapphire rings for the constant running seconds and the thirty minute chronograph counter at the nine and three respectively, allow for an unrestricted and mesmerising vista of the mechanisms surrounding them. Vivid red hands and white markings ensure readability of the indications, while the slender central chronograph hand, also in red, is elongated so that it reaches out to where the glass dome envelopes the case. Beneath a cutaway section, the fascinating panorama of the fully exposed chronograph components are demanding of closer inspection. Operated via the single mono pusher, the distinctive column wheel, the defining feature of the contemporary chronograph, is directly below the twelve and it serves as a command centre to the levers which activate the complication. Adding to the technical effect, the gears and wheels of the going train are also visible.

Powering this impressive timepiece is the self winding LM84 movement, designed and conceived in a collaboration with movement specialists Concepto and manufactured in the company’s ateliers near the shore of Lake Neuchâtel. In addition to the meticulous sunburst, straight-grained and circular finishing on the dial side, one can appreciate the exquisite Clous de Paris and Fleur de Lys decoration on its rotor though the sapphire crystal caseback. Beating at 28’800 vib/h (4Hz), the calibre has a power reserve of 48 hours.

An exceptional piece which underscores the innovative ethos of Louis Moinet and their two hundred year old chronograph mechanism legacy, the Memoris Spirit with titanium case is manufactured in an exclusive production of 60 pieces with titanium case. It comes presented on a Louisiana alligator leather strap with a folding titanium clasp.
