LOUIS ERARD EXCELLENCE ÉMAIL GRAND FEU II

An aesthetically pleasing timepiece in every sense, the Excellence Émail Grand Feu II by Louis Erard has the elegance required of a dress watch, but with a resolutely contemporary twist. Boasting a handcrafted dial of pristine white Grand Feu enamel, the character of this limited edition timepiece is enlivened by modern styling touches and nuances. Not limited to its beautiful dial aspect, the piece enjoys the advantage of an élaboré grade Swiss mechanical self-winding calibre, and with a strictly limited release of just 99 pieces, the wearer can be assured of exclusivity.

The case of the piece is manufactured from stainless steel which has been beautifully polished to enhance its rounded profile. Perfectly proportioned at 38mm across and with a height of 12.25mm,  it has a textured crown, gently curving lugs and a trim, rounded bezel.

Beneath the gently domed sapphire crystal, the dial of the watch is exceptional. Manufactured in the atelier of Donzé Cadrans, it has been crafted using the traditional oven fired Grand Feu enamelling technique, and rendered in pristine white. Adding a modern twist to this otherwise traditional facade, vivid blue indications provide contrast to the superlative purity of the façade.  Applied using the painstaking process of enamel transfer, the roman numerals and markers are elongated and  slender, and they are complemented by a railtrack chapter ring and a subtle small seconds counter on the lower dial. The signature Louis Erard Fir Tree hands are blued so that they stand out wonderfully against the quiet beauty of the enamel and, adding an effortlessly stylish touch of animation to the dial, the vivid red numeral XII and eight red markers on the small seconds provide further subtle focal points.

Powering the piece, and viewable through the sapphire crystal exhibition caseback, the modified Sellita SW261-1 self-winding movement features a semi-skeletonised oscillating weight, enhanced with a Louis Erard motif which has been applied with black lacquer. Beating at a brisk 28’800 vib/h, it boasts a power reserve of thirty-eight hours.

A model which has the traditional refinement of an outstanding Grand Feu enamel dial together with modern styling cues, the Louis Erard Excellence Émail Grand Feu II comes presented on a red grained calfskin strap enhanced with a pair of bright blue stitches at each lug. This exclusive edition will be a limited release of 99 pieces.
