LINDE WERDELIN BIFORMETER 3 TIMER ROCK GOLD LIMITED EDITION

A small watch brand which was instrumental in the dawn of a new era of independent watchmaking, with its highly distinctive, cool and contemporary designs, Linde Werdelin proved that this artisanal sector, renowned for hand crafted haute horlogerie, could mix it with the big, global marques when it came to rugged, all-purpose sports watches too.

Beautifully engineered, with the unmistakable Linde Werdelin DNA which is the recurring signature through its iconic collections, the Biformeter 3 Timer Rock Gold is a watch that is truly designed to go anywhere. Boasting an impressive 300m water resistance rating and pronounced robust construction, combined with displaying a possible three time zones simultaneously, it is a traveller, a diver and a survivor, built to endure the rigours of an active outdoor life.

It is encased in a 44mm case of stainless steel and its flat surfaces fall off in sharply defined angles which give it an imposing presence, and make it quite unique and purposeful in its styling. The surfaces are brushed to a matte finish, and the gold screw-in crown nestles safely out of harm’s way between the protective shoulders either side. On top the notched bi-directional rotating bezel is tactile and can be adjusted to display one of the two 24 hour time zones, using the arrow tipped GMT pointer, which also displays the time in a third zone on the dial, as it rotates once every twenty-four hours.

Beneath the round sapphire crystal, the grey dial is engraved with an eye catching paved pattern in a formation of concentric rings, radiating outwards from the centre and inspired by the lines of longitude and latitude. Both the applied hour markers and faceted tapering hands in 18Kt gold are accented in powerful Super LumiNova for optimal legibility in even low light environments, and located at the four o’clock position, the date disc features white print on a black background, making it relatively inconspicuous against the grey dial.

Underneath, the 3 Timer Rock Gold features a solid steel screw-on caseback, which is engraved with the LW motif and inscribed with its limited edition number. Inside, the ETA 2893 self winding movement assures reliability and returns a power reserve of at least 42 hours when off the wrist.

The Linde Werdelin Biformeter 3 Timer Rock Gold is a superb piece in its styling and its all-round practicality, with the rubber strap and pin buckle allowing it to fit over the cuff of a wetsuit, and with each version produced in only fifty pieces, is a sports watch which is exclusive and different, yet very user friendly.
