Linde Werdelin 3 -Timer Black Dial

Linde Werdelin 3 -Timer Black Dial

Released in a very limited edition of just 222 pieces worldwide, the 3-Timer Black Dial from Linde Werdelin is a super cool multi-timezone timepiece in brushed stainless steel, boasting pronounced sculpted angles and excellent at-a-glance readability.

Founded in 2002 by friends and designer/watchmaker duo Morten Linde and Jorn Werdelin, the watches manufactured by their eponymous independent watch company, Linde Werdelin are manufactured to exacting standards, with each model only ever produced in small numbers, making these striking designs rare and highly sought after by discerning on-trend collectors around the world.

In what seems like only a few short years, their brand has not only succeeded in maintaining a steadily growing fan base, Linde Werdelin have firmly established themselves as pioneers of groundbreaking non-conformist design, which has become their signature across a collection of high quality sports watches.

The 3-Timer comes in a futuristically styled yet functional case which is designed to adapt either of Linde Werdelin’s reef or rock instruments, which attach securely and convert the timepiece into a wrist-borne computer for the serious diving or rock climbing enthusiast. Encased in stainless steel, its surfaces have fine brushed finishing with two pairs of hex bolts securing the strap to the case, and its pointed pronounced angles make it one of the most distinguishable and recognisable watches around.

Beneath a thick sapphire crystal, the galvanized black dial’s ‘paved’ pattern radiates outwards from the centre, creating an additional depth of field and highlights an eyecatching attention to detail such as the neat positioning of the date window between the 3 and 4. Rhodium plated steel hour indices are applied to its surface, and like the distinctive LW hands are filled with strong Super LumiNova for exceptional clarity in low light conditions or in murky waters.

As a proper multi-timezone time piece, the 3-Timer’s additional hour pointers  allow the user to keep tabs on the time in up to three international regions, or two plus 24-hours depending on how the bi-directional bezel is used. When not in use, the ‘third’ hand hides away behind the main hours hand, and the lumed arrow tip pointer can be used for a 24-hour function. The bezel, with polished teeth features deeply engraved numerals with black fill and is solidly integrated into the case, reducing the risk of damage and with a well protected screw-in crown contributing to the watch’s robust appearance.

Within, the tried and trusted ETA 2893 beats reliably and out of sight, as the caseback is a solid steel screw-down piece with the LW logo engraved. The 3-Timer is presented on an interchangeable soft black calfskin leather strap with a textured upper surface making it long lasting and durable.
