A visually appealing edition from every aspect, the Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Massena LAB Silver captures the beautiful craftsmanship of the façades which once graced the world’s finest timekeepers and pays tribute to their unique aesthetics.
Within the portfolio of Louis Erard, their Le Régulateur is a timepiece which is acclaimed for its traditional refinement and effortlessly stylish personality. Evoking a classical demeanour through its individualised time-telling dial arrangement, the model lends itself wonderfully to the inclusion of styling nuances which evoke the purity of vintage and antique finishing techniques. Created in partnership with Massena LAB, a company who are renowned for watchmaking innovation while also being vanguards for historical horology, Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Massena LAB Silver is the latest piece in a highly desirable series of limited edition models.
Evocative of the finishing and style of late 18th and early 19th century marine chronometers, an era when ornate, metallic dials were an eye-pleasing inclusion, the dial aesthetic of the watch is both quietly beautiful yet wholly magnificent and, in particular it has been crafted with a nod to the the preferences of Antide Janvier and Ferdinand Berthoud, who were Masters of their time. Abounding with subtle details, and with meticulous attention to every nuance, the rhodium-plated dial carries a gorgeous decorative grainy texture, which promises to play with the light. Positioned upon this frosty backdrop, and creating a multi-level aspect, the 12-hour dial at the topmost position is accompanied by a 60-second dial at the lower section and with the twin branding of Massena LAB and Louis Erard at the left and right offering equipoise. Adhering to the firmly classical design codes of the model, diminutive Roman numerals, slender indices and the exquisite Louis Erard signature fir-shaped hands enhance the overall effect and notably, the visually compelling elongated central minutes hand which appears to elevate above the metallic finish of the dial is indeed a splendid feature.
The watch is housed in a rounded and polished 42mm case of stainless steel, topped with a domed sapphire crystal and with the addition of Massena LAB crown detailing. Viewable through a sapphire crystal caseback, the Swiss made sellita 266 self-winding movement which powers the watch beats at a brisk 28’800vib/h and has a power reserve of a minimum of thirty-eight hours, maintained by the oscillations of the semi-skeletonised Louis Erard bespoke rotor.
An alluring proposition which boasts exclusivity and old-school elegance, the Le Régulateur Louis Erard x Massena LAB Silver comes presented on a black grained calf leather strap, hand-stitched and lined with blue calf-skin leather and secured to the wrist by a steel pin buckle. The edition is a strictly limited release of 178 pieces.
