Brimming with functionality, the Cyrus Klepcys Reveil watch features a charming mechanical 24 hour alarm and day and night indication, displayed on a three-dimensional dial finished with a beautiful grenage decor. An alluring proposition, this technically sophisticated timepiece comes presented in a cushion shaped stainless steel case, and is powered by the superb in-house CYR1280 manual winding movement, featuring immaculate contemporary Haute Horlogerie finishing.
Under the leadership of the renowned master watchmaker, Jean-François Mojon, Geneva based Manufacture, Cyrus are renowned for their innovational and progressive horological achievements. Having launched their first alarm function watch in 2018, the Klepcys Reveil watch evolves their portfolio by introducing a visually refined yet contemporary aesthetic to the collection. A perfect fit for those with a penchant for a traditional chiming sound rather than the shrillness of a smart phone, this exceptional watch promises a delightful wake-up call via its incredibly detailed bell-shaped hammer, which is visible on the dial-side.
The complex cushion shaped casing of the watch is constructed from stainless steel, and is sized at 42mm diameter, with a height of 17.15mm. Flawless polished and satin finishing techniques enhance the recesses in its middle and the softness of its corners, and the lugs are elongated to ensure an ergonomic fit. The two opposing crowns feature rubber collars, with the example at the three o’clock for setting of the time and the alarm and for the winding, and the other at the 9 o’clock for the activation and deactivation of the alarm.
Cleanly styled and oozing with contemporary elegance, the dial composition has a wonderful combination of depth, beauty and texture. Against a pristine surface of grenage decoration, the larger of the two overlapping circles has relief arabic hour numerals, openworked electric blue-tipped hands for the hours, minutes and seconds, and a white lacquered minutes scale. The smaller circle houses the 24 hour scale for the alarm and is fitted with diminutive versions of the main hands while, providing perfect equipoise, a little day and night indicator is positioned at 10.30 location.
An aperture at the 7.30 reveals a view through to the movement, and also the tiny bell-shaped hammer that enables the alarm. Meticulously detailed with a brushed surface and polished bevelled edges, the little mechanism promises an agreeable chime for a minimum of 16 seconds, or until it is deactivated using the crown at 9 o’clock. A small blue pointer indicates the current alarm status via the inscriptions on its scale of ‘Marche’ or ‘Arrêt’.
Visible through the sapphire caseback, the self-winding Calibre CRY1280 is a fully in-house designed and developed movement. Beating at 28’800 vib/hour and with a power reserve of 72 hours, it features an exclusive Cyrus winding system designed by master watchmaker Jean-François Mojon. Enhanced by black-lacquered ratchet wheels and the Cyrus signature helix motif, the two barrels are arranged in parallel, with the barrel closest to the balance devoted to driving its oscillation, while the second barrel provides the energy for the alarm function. Adhering to the contemporary character of the watch, the bridges are darkened and they exhibit a flawless sunray decoration displaying a subtle curve.
A remarkable innovative interpretation of the traditional mechanical alarm wristwatch, the Cyrus Klepcys Reveil is presented on a glossy leather strap secured with an engraved stainless steel folding clasp.
