HYT H1 Gold Blue

When Neuchâtel-bassed company, HYT produced the first edition of their award-winning H1 timepiece, they created a new and exciting genre in the watch industry.

By integrating liquid into its watchcase, and using it to indicate time, HYT’s ground-breaking H1 flouted one of traditional watchmaking’s most elementary rules.

HYT’s fascination with fluid mechanics continues with the H1 Gold Blue limited edition model, which adds a touch of luxurious elegance to the portfolio.

At the heart of this hydromechanical timepiece are two flexible rhodiumed bellows, which push and pull liquid through a slender capillary which encircles the dial.  The position of the liquid serves to indicate the retrograde hours.

Beneath a domed sapphire boxed crystal, the technical architecture and depth of the dial can be appreciated.  The twin bellows dominate the lower dial, providing a compelling spectacle as they expand and contract to advance the liquid.

On the upper dial, a regulator at 12 indicates the minutes, while an indicator at 2.30 keeps check on the impressive 65 hour reserve of power.  At the 9.30 location, a small seconds wheel whirs like a miniature turbine.

Although the concept is entirely futuristic, this HYT Gold Blue model is still firmly within the realms of fine watchmaking.  Turn the piece over, and the beautifully finished mechanical hand-wound calibre is revealed.  Here, the reverse-side of the imposing bellows still command attention, but the hand-chamfered and Côtes de Genève decorated bridges add a superb contrast and, they bear witness to the craftsmanship of this piece.

The meticulous finishing continues on the sculpted profile of the 48.8mm case which has been given brushed, satin-finished and shot-peened surface detailing.

The futuristic aesthetics of the HYT H1 Gold Blue make it  a standout timepiece. However, the eye-pleasing combination of a pink gold case, paired with vivid blue dial accents and a rich blue alligator strap adds a sophisticated twist to the character of this astounding model.

The HYT Blue Gold edition will be strictly limited to 10 pieces worldwide.
