Muted tones of slate grey, paired with a stealthy black DLC stainless steel give this HYT H0 Grey edition an understated character. However, after dark, an entirely different personality is revealed as the breathtaking effect of the luminescent coatings bring it to life on the wrist.
For HYT, the passage of time takes on an entirely original aesthetic. Their fluid hour indication enables time to lose some its structure and discipline, allowing the hours flow gently, indicated via two immiscible liquids, held within a tiny medical grade glass capillary tube which encircles the dial.
This edition has been endowed with a slate grey dial, while ebony liquid serves to indicate the hours. The twin bellows, which contract to force the fluid around the glass tube, have been enhanced with smoky sapphire covers. At odds with this restrained colour palette, a flash of vivid red for the power reserve indication adds a dramatic twist to this otherwise restrained design.
The piece carries a generous 48.8mm black DLC stainless steel case but the use of metal is kept to a minimum. Instead, a massive box-sapphire crystal, wraps itself around the piece, spilling over the case side thus giving the entire piece showcase aesthetics. Beneath the translucent case sides, the stencil-like numerals are laid out laterally.
By day, the purity of design of this timepiece gives it an indisputable wrist presence. However, dim the lights, and it becomes a luminous sensation.
Beneath the glass capillary and the stencil-like numerals, C7 Super-LumiNova, a luminescent coating, endows a glow-in-the-dark appearance, giving the piece a fantastic other-worldly appearance.
Elsewhere on the dial, a traditional regulateur minutes is located on an elevated central dial, flanked by a small seconds and power reserve indication. Each counter has been meticulously decorated with a sand-blasted finish adding texture.
The powerhouse behind this impressive timepiece is the exclusive HYT mechanical manual winding calibre which incorporates their exclusive patented micro-fluidic module. Its sand-blasted finishing and unusual architecture can be appreciated through the rear sapphire crystal.
The HYT H0 Grey wristwatch wears comfortably on the wrist on an integrated, tactile rubber strap in a complementary shade of grey, featuring a DLC titanium deployant buckle.
