The HYT H0 Diamond Black timepiece is a superb demonstration of HYT’s astounding fluid mechanics. But, with a liberal coating of dazzling diamonds, this small series edition also has an opulent and exclusive character.

To create their patented fluidic time indication, HYT invested years of fastidious research and development. Taking inspiration and knowledge from the realms of science, medicine, and the aerospace industry, HYT has taken watchmaking into a new genre – one which introduces liquid right into the beating heart of a mechanical watch movement.

At the core of this exciting technology is a medical-grade glass capillary which encircles the dial, and which contains two immiscible liquids and a pair of multi-layer bellows. These bellows, which are visible through apertures on the lower dial, contract to force the liquids, one transparent the other jet-black, around the tube enabling them to indicate the hours in a most compelling manner.

As the liquid flows with unstructured ease to count the hours, time itself seems to lose some of its disciplines too. And, when twelve hours have elapsed, the fluid makes a gentle retrograde transition back to its original position, allowing for a quiet moment of reflection on the precious hours just passed, and anticipation of those still to come.

From every aspect, the H0 Diamond Black is a showcase timepiece. It features a generous 48.8 mm stainless steel case, but really, the use of metal is minimal. Instead, translucent sapphire and diamonds dominate.

Rising up from the satin-finished steel case, a domed sapphire encloses the piece almost in its entirety. Beneath this vitreous cupola, the dial has been embellished with a blanketing of snow-set diamonds totaling 7.423cts. Meanwhile, on the sapphire case-sides, engraved black numerals cast individual shadows, adding a superb three-dimensional effect.

At the center of the dial, on an elevated section, a subdial takes up position to indicate the minutes, while a small seconds and power reserve indication take up their position on either side. Here too, black accents enhance the indications.

The contrast of the jet-black fluidic hour indication against the dazzling backdrop of precious stones, together with the high level of difficulty involved in achieving the snow-setting technique, add to the desirability of this H0 Diamond Black timepiece.

The power behind this hydro-mechanical technology is the exclusive HYT manual wound Calibre, which beats at 8,800vph. It's beveled and Côtes de Genève adorned bridges can be appreciated through the rear sapphire case back.
