A contemporary timepiece which exhibits a casual sporty character, the Autark Hv Gorge Blue watch expands the portfolio of independent Swiss watch company Horage, adding further to their achievements thus far. While they are one of the industry’s more youthful brands, Horage are already renowned for their distinctive, minimalist styling and superb in-house mechanisms.
At 39mm in diameter and just over 10mm tall the case of the Autark Hv Gorge Blue has a complex construction and is abound with subtle details. Manufactured from hardened Grade 5 titanium, it boasts the refinement of sleek flat surfaces and contrasting angles. Conforming with the sporty personality of the piece, a notched bezel adds a touch of ruggedness and it has a water resistance of 100m.
Beneath a flat sapphire crystal of extraordinary clarity, the piece reveals a dial of stunning Gorge blue, finished with silver brushing, which recreates the intense colour and depths of the fresh mountain waters of the Taubenlochschlucht region. With even the most subtle movement of the wrist, it promises to shimmer as it catches and reflects the light. On display are small seconds at the nine o’clock, a power reserve indicator at the six and a generously proportioned date window recessed at the three. Applied arabic numerals in white with luminous dot accents and luminous tipped steel hands, ensure legibility in even low light conditions.
An engraved caseback encircles the rear sapphire crystal though which the K1 self winding movement is showcased. Entirely designed, developed and produced in-house, the calibre boasts a silicon escapement and an impressive 65 hours of power reserve with a signature frequency of 3.5 hz (25’200 vib/h).
A perfect balance of sporty aesthetics and functionality, the Horage Autark Hv Gorge Blue demonstrates the modern design flair synonymous with this superb independent watch company. The piece wears on a Swiss handmade blue leather strap with a single fold deployment clasp.
