Hautlence HLRQ 04

One of the most exciting and innovative watch companies to have established a presence in the industry is Hautlence, who in little more than ten years have evolved to become part of the independent watchmaking ‘establishment’ thanks to their collections of remarkable and beautifully manufactured technical tours de force.

In the truest spirit of avant garde Hautlence, through truly daring contemporary watch design and ingenious horological innovation, have established their own aesthetic and technical parameters, and a growing following of watch collectors that spans the world.

Using advanced materials to construct futuristic timepieces, with modern-day interpretations of classic watchmaking standards the Hautlence Infinity motif has become synonymous with cutting edge timekeeping and a range of extraordinary watches with enormous presence on the wrist.

And in this vein the Hautlence HLRQ 04 is arrestingly eyecatching with its four glassy-blue varnished steel lug pieces extending towards the mid points, cradling the waist of the black dlc titanium case.

A polished stainless steel bezel surrounds a stunning combination of colour, shade and mechanical activity with vivid luminous powder blue markings and detail, and exposed mobile connecting rods.

The round sapphire crystal covers a multi level display of layered clear and smoked sapphire sections and rotating disc, the result of which combines digital and analogue hours and minutes in an almost regulateur-like configuration, with a fascinating animated retrograde mechanism for the minutes.

A single black gold hand accented with a luminous blue arrow tip moves along the minutes scale to the right side of the face with blue five-minute dots and quarter hour figures, and then having reached the end of its cycle at the top of the hour, retreats back to its starting point to commence once again. The whole retrograde process is spectacularly brought to life as the hand’s active connecting lever and pivot elements swing back, moving at the same time as they too return to reset position.

For the hours, Hautlence have used a rotating smoked sapphire disc which highlights the hour as it leaps forward in the same moment as the retrograde minutes are retracing, creating a momentary flurry of attention demanding activity.

Also visible is the date ring which aligns beneath the round aperture at the six

The three dimensional experience is accentuated with uninhibited glimpses of the movement below. Every surface has been finished in perlage or grained brush effect, with polished screw heads and minutely detailed geartrain components. Combined with the sheen of the sapphire elements and the way they play deflective tricks with the light, Hautlence have ensured each little detail of the HLRQ 04 plays its part in the overall captivating appearance of the watch.

Through the sapphire caseback the rear of the in-house designed and created manual winding caliber is visible. Almost an understatement when compared to the front, the movement’s plates have been finished in broad Geneva stripes with finely polished edging.

The Hautlence HLRS 04 is presented on a black rubberised alligator leather strap with folding deployant clasp or pin buckle options.

Supplied brand new in box with all accompanying documentation The Limited Edition are pleased to offer one of only 88 pieces to be made.
