With its intriguing dial arrangement, the Hautlence HL Vagabonde 03 watch provides a new perspective on the indication of the passing hours and minutes. Featuring the standout combination of a Titanium case paired with rich blue accents, this Haute Horlogerie credentials of this model are underscored by meticulous craftsmanship and fine hand-finishing.
The piece features a distinctive 39mm x 46mm Grade 5 Titanium TV-screen shaped watchcase, with a trim bezel and fluted crown. The profile, which recalls the outline of retro television screens, enables a generous opening for the exquisite dial layout enclosed beneath the beveled sapphire crystal.
The dial itself is composed of deep blue opaline endowed with a filigree honeycomb pattern. Against this stunning background and set on different levels, four discs enable a fascinating display for the hours and the minutes.
The largest disc, at the centre, has been constructed from sapphire. Here, an open-worked honeycomb pattern on the middle section allows for a look-see to the mechanism beneath. Surrounding it, three skeletonised satellite discs take up position.
The minutes, which are indicated via standout white double-digit numerals are exposed in a 240° sector that revolves around the dial. As it completes its trajectory, it aligns the 00 indicator with one of the three orbiting skeletonised hour discs. With precise, mechanical orderliness, the correct hour disc aligns to indicate the current hour, visible through an aperture.
Although the composition of this dial arrangement has a resolutely technical aspect, it is also characterised by such a graceful equipoise that one instantly becomes captivated by its unique persona and poetic passage.
Enabling the motion of this mesmerising dial, the Hautlence HTL 205-1 self-winding calibre beats at 21,600vph. Based on the HMC 200 movement of the brands’ sister-company H.Moser & Cie., this synergistic alliance has engendered a Haute Horlogerie calibre equipped with a bi-directional winding system enabling an ample three days of power reserve.
Revealed through a sapphire section in the caseback, the modern architecture of the calibre is enhanced by broad Côtes de Genève decoration and a honeycomb pattern on the rotor.
The Haultence HL Vagabonde 03 is a limited edition of 28 pieces and comes presented on a blue Louisiana alligator; domed, rubber-lined, full square scales and rolled-edge. Grade 5 Titanium folding clasp with satin-brushed steel plate.
