HAUTLENCE HL VAGABONDE 02 BLACK DLC TITANIUM EDITION

A superb example of contemporary fine watchmaking, the Hautlence Vagabonde 02 wristwatch is characterised by bold aesthetics and imaginative time indications.  The use of striking contrasting colour tones ensure that this piece exudes a powerful presence on the wrist, while its exemplary fine finishing bears testament to its Haute Horlogerie credentials.

The Hautlence Vagabonde 02 is presented in a black DLC Grade 5 titanium case TV-screen shaped case measuring 39mm x 46mm and features an extra-hard, sapphire crystal with bevelled edging.  A fluted crown in polished black DLC coated titanium adheres to the stealthy styling codes of this outstanding timepiece.

The dial arrangement is a multi-layer design, comprising of four discs which work in unison to create a mesmerising display of the passing hours and minutes.

The largest disc, which displays the minutes, is uppermost at the centre of the dial.  Manufactured from sapphire glass it features open-worked honeycomb detailing which adds a superb technical aspect, and around it, the jumping hours are displayed on one of three skeletonised satellite hour discs which alternate on a four hour cycle.

The minutes, which are indicated via standout white double-digit numerals are exposed in a 240° sector that revolves around the dial. As it completes its trajectory, it aligns the 00 indicator with one of the three orbiting skeletonised hour discs. With precise, mechanical orderliness, the correct hour disc aligns to indicate the current hour, visible through an aperture.

Forming a backdrop to this absorbing panorama, the base dial has been crafted from black opaline, enhanced with a repeating honeycomb filigree pattern.  Conforming to the intensity of the orange tones which accentuate the time-indication discs, a vivid line traces the profile of the dial, breaking on the lower sector where it wraps around the Hautlence branding as if to proclaim the provenance of this remarkable model.

Giving power to the unique time indications, the Hautlence HTL 205-1 self-winding calibre beats at 21,600vph. Based on the HMC 200 movement from the brands’ sister-company H. Moser & Cie., the bi-directional winding system of the calibre enables an ample three days of power reserve.

A sapphire section in the caseback reveals the broad Côtes de Genève decoration which enhances the modern architecture of the calibre and here too, one can also appreciate the honeycomb pattern on the rotor.

The Hautlence HL Vagabonde 02 is a limited edition of 28 pieces and comes presented on a black Louisiana alligator domed leather strap with a Grade 5 Titanium folding clasp with satin-brushed plate.
