With its superb technical aesthetics, the HYT H1.0 Green watch is a demonstration of this youthful brand’s accomplishments, but it is the flow of the attention-grabbing green fluidic hour display to which the eye is instantly drawn. When HYT launched their H1.0 watch, they created an unprecedented complication. By combining traditional watchmaking components with fluid mechanics, they broke one of the industry’s cardinal rules. The end result of their pioneering innovation is a fascinating method for marking the passing hours.
The HYT H1.0 Green carries a 48.8 mm black DLC coated stainless steel case. On its exterior walls, shadowy Arabic numerals have been cut deep into the horizontal recesses. Rising up from this imposing profile, a massive, box-domed sapphire crystal creates a vitreous showcase for the technical panorama beneath.
Around the perimeter of the dial, vivid green liquid, contained within a tiny medical-grade glass capillary serves to indicate the hours. Breathing life into this remarkable feature, are two flexible, rhodiumed bellows. Viewable through apertures on the lower-dial, these multi-layer mechanisms release and contract to push and pull the liquid around the capillary in order to indicate the current hour.
On the upper dial, a regulator at 12 indicates the minutes, while an indicator at 2.30 keeps check on the impressive 65 hour reserve of power. At the 9.30 location, a small seconds wheel whirs like a miniature turbine. Vivid green accents on the minutes hand, the power reserve and on the hour markers conform to complement the fluidic hour indication.
Turn the piece over, and a new exciting perspective is revealed through the sapphire caseback. Here, the exclusive HYT manual winding movement displays a remarkable blend of traditional and contemporary watchmaking with beautiful hand-bevelled and and Côtes de Genève decorated bridges juxtaposed with the unique architecture of the reverse-side of the bellows.
The energetic vibrancy of green styling touches combined with stealthy DLC coated surfaces ensure that the HYT H1.0 Green is a timepiece which is defined by stunning contrasts. Although purely technical in character, superb Haute Horlogerie finishing throughout bears witness to the craftsmanship of this impressive model. The HYT H1.0 Green wears on a black rubber strap with black DLC coated titanium folding buckle.
