H0 GUN METAL RED

For this HYT H0 Gun Metal Red watch, HYT play with colour to create an impressive timepiece, which is characterised by contrasting fiery red tones underplayed with über-cool anthracite grey. However its stellar feature is, of course, the unique patented fluidic hour indication which encircles the dial and immediately catches the eye. HYT are widely renowned for achieving the seemingly impossible – the introduction of a liquid-based indication within the confines of a mechanical watch movement.

Naturally, the creation of such a system posed quite a conundrum for the youthful brand. After all, generations of watchmakers have strived to keep moisture away from the components due its ruinous effect on timekeeping accuracy. In order to overcome the challenges involved, HYT employed the methods and knowledge normally found in the realms of science, medicine and the aerospace industry.

The end-result of years of fastidious research and development by the team at HYT is an astounding mechanical watch movement with a micro-fluidic module which includes two multi-layer bellows and a medical-grade glass capillary tube. This amazingly tiny tube has interior nano-coating and contains two immiscible liquids, one transparent the other coloured.

The two multi-layer bellows which work in unison to force the liquids around the tube can be viewed through the apertures on the lower dial. The transition of the fluidic hour indication creates a gentle illusion, one where time itself appears to lose some of its structure and discipline.

This model carries a generous 48.8mm stainless steel case with DLC anthracite coating. From this sleek, satin-finished housing, a box-domed sapphire rises up to enclose almost the entire piece, creating a superb three-dimensional effect. The atypically located crown features a textured, red rubber sheath.

The dial is satin-finished anthracite with engraved markers and numerals in white super-luminova. Against this restrained background, the vivid red fluid contained within the glass capillary creates a stunning contrast, complemented by further red accents on the regulateur minutes and seconds subdials, and on the power reserve indication. The powerhouse behind this impressive timepiece is the exclusive HYT mechanical manual winding calibre which incorporates their exclusive patented micro-fluidic module. Its meticulous sand blasted finishing and unusual architecture can be appreciated through the rear sapphire crystal. The HYY H0 Gun Metal Red watch wears comfortably on an integrated red rubber strap with titanium folding buckle.
